  • I received an email from "yahoo customer service". "we're updating our email system, and the older version mailbox will be discontinued starting from November 14, 2025." It wanted me to click a link to update my account.
  • When I hovered over the sender, it was some random email user. it was also blind copying two other suspicious emails with weird domains.
  • Reported it to yahoo as a scam.
  • Do not click random links.
 

Thanks for warning us. The older version of what Yahoo called "classic" email was abandoned years ago. There has been another thread not long back about the appearance of Yahoo changing. If you may have missed it, or just want to check it out -> click here.

Good catch. I see that kind of stuff often. You did a good job not clicking and looking first.

You were right to hover over the sender. And if there's a logo or address in the lower left corner, you can hover over that to see the real sender. It's a simple way to know if it's a scam.
