That is rare but so beautiful or maybe I should have said that is beautiful but so rare. I played the video a few timesI never knew they existed. I hope one day I see one on my feeders.
The Snow Bunting spends the summer in the Canadian Arctic, the winter in the south. LINK> Snow Bunting Photos and Videos for, All About Birds, Cornell Lab of OrnithologyView attachment 495697
The painted bunting is one of the most rapidly declining songbirds in the eastern United States. Florida breeding and winter season surveys show an astounding 4-6 percent annual decrease in this species' numbers. In some areas, counts have fallen from the hundreds to a mere handful.
Here in Canada we have the occasional "White Moose " . They are rarely seen. For our European members....A mature male Moose is bigger than a Clydesdale shire horse, and their antlers can grow to be 2 meters across, and weigh over 40 kilos. Those rarities are like the white squirrels. Brevard, NC, has them as their "signature critters" and has a white squirrel festival every year. I've not had the luck to see one in the wild, though.
