Hi everyone!!!!!! I am FINALLY getting my new roof today!!!!!!! I have been waiting for 2 months for this and the rain has been preventing it!!!! It has been raining and raining and raining some more. This has been needed for several years but my husband was sick with cancer and it had to be put on the back burner since we weren't having any problems with it. He passed away about 2 years ago and I have been "playing catch-up" with repairs, etc. for the last 2 years and this is the final thing, I hope. I hope I haven't bored you with this but I'm the type of person that when something exciting happens, I have to share it. I just can't keep my mouth shut and you good people were chosen to share it with. :eek:
 

What good news for you Aprilsun, a new roof is an expensive business, so no wonder you are very happy about it, hope all goes well.:)
 

Glad to hear you're getting it done AprilSun. We had to do ours not too long ago due to major hail damage, almost everyone in our area needed to re-roof. They finished ours in one day and did a good job, so we were very happy about that. Good to check something big like this off your to do list. :)

SeaBreeze, you sound like me. When I have something to do, I like to do it and get it over with especially the big jobs!!! This will be a big load off of my shoulders!!!!! Hmmmm.........maybe I should get on the scales when it's done. :)

Actually, Santa should feel safer this year because the wood around the chimney won't be rotten this time. They said the wood had rotted so they are repairing that as well. Maybe Santa will come see me this year.
 
I understand.. I had a new roof put on my house about 7 years ago... and one on my other house 3 years ago... I was excited.. A new shingle color makes it look like a new house!! Enjoy!
 
Well, my house should feel better. I know I do!!!! They are finished and it looks so good!!!!! I want to thank everyone for your understanding of why I was so excited and your kind words. Now, I will wait for it to rain so I can say, "Testing 1....2....3....". :eek:
 
Congrats Aprilsun... I was away so I didn't see this thread before you had it done, ..I bet you're absolutely delighted !! :D

Like AZJim I too have a tiled roof, very expensive to replace, had it done about 8 years ago..it should be good for many years..
 
AprilSun, as a homeowner, I can certainly understand your happiness at meeting your goal. :) It seems I have a never-ending list of things that must be done. I'll need to put a new roof on within the next few years too. :( But fortunately no leaks - yet!

Thank you hollydolly!!!! Oh yes, I am so excited and relieved. My husband used to take care of the roof, etc. but now that he has passed away, it has all fallen into my lap. That adds to my excitement because I have it accomplished!! Thanks again!!!!

That was me Glinda. I had a list of things that needed to be done around here and I have been slowly checking them off of my list. Like you, I didn't have any leaks but I decided to take the plunge before they started and I would have to have it done. I hope you continue to have no leaks and it waits until you're ready to do it too. Good Luck!!!! :)
