You Are Stranded On A Deserted Island...

A knife, so I could cut branches for a shelter and firewood and to fillet fish. Also, to create a spear or arrows for hunting and self-defense. It was hard choosing between the knife and the saw. The saw would be easier to use for cutting down branches and firewood, but I can't help thinking the knife would last longer and I could also sharpen it on rocks. The gun will run out of ammo and then what am I gonna use it for?

It looks like the flare gun comes with six flares. I would bank on using four of the flares to start fires. I don't think I'd have much luck trying to start a fire by rubbing two sticks together, so it would be helpful having a tool that starts fires, and I'd try to save the last two flares to signal nearby ships for help if, by divine providence, there were any. 🙏🚢 Matches would quickly run out, and I couldn't shoot one to signal a passing ship. Of course, once I started the fire, I'd have to keep it going, even in the rain. Wish me luck with that. 🥴

A pretty hefty cast iron pot would be a pain to move around, but it can do so much for survival. The main use would be to boil any freshwater I can find on the island. I would cook with it and use it as a container if I had to. No telling if I'd ever get off the island, and I figured the water purifier would poop out, eventually. I'd really like the other pot, but in this case, the cast iron one is more practical.

I can use rope to tie a shelter together, build traps, and drag heavy branches. Also, the rope is multi-stranded. I can take some rope apart to make threads or fishing lines. Then I don't need the fishing rod, which will get clogged with sand quickly and stop working. Make a hook out of a shell or barbed bush limb, and I'd have a reasonable fishing rig.

I'm good for a stroll on the beach but not too good at wilderness survival. If it's a small island, there won't be a lot of resources. Bottom line, I'm gonna die. I'd be lucky to last two weeks. So, never mind the above, instead I'd opt for toilet paper, so I'd have something to smoke the weed in and matches to light it, and insect repellent so at least they won't eat me while I'm still alive.

Oh my....you've put a lot of thought in to this.. :ROFLMAO:

Chose before reading posts.
knife, matches, inflatable raft, fishing rod

And after reading posts would not want to be there with most of the rest of you if choosers haha.

That water purifier would not work on sea water. No small water purifier can purify seawater nor even muddy water.

Also boiling water in the pot would only result in dry salt. Thus would need appropriate metal/plastic surface placed above to collect steam. Not easy if using a fire and likely a sooty water result.

Tarp can make a lean to tent and much more. Cut off a square and use to collect and store rainwater. However would instead choose the inflatable raft and use the knife to cut up sections for other purposes just like the tarp. Better the raft turned upsidedown is a ready shelter or right side up during rain, the best way to collect water given a large surface area. that would pool.

Lacking a pan/pot, likely could find a shore rock with a concave hole as sea life like urchins cause holes in rock. If corral, lots of rock with holes to hold liquid.
Don't need a pot to cook fish given matches then a fire and shish-ca-bob sticks.

And with a fishing rod, this outdoor guy is easily catching his meals.

To signal boats at sea for help, a pile of dry wood kept in a dry rain protected spot plus matches.

Some types of seaweed cut from shallow areas with the knife could after drying could be used as rope. Also many shore seaweeds are edible adding what fish alone won't.

You are stranded on a deserted island  ... you can choose only 4 items

Only 4?
Well, I'd pick Detective Sergeant Emma Scribbins & Emma Peel, to keep me safe. Special Agent Jennifer Jareau, in case I run into any Criminal Minds, and Sandy to keep me company As Time Goes By.
