You know someone who's in their hundreds.

My Mom was 102 when she passed away. She passed away a few days after my sister and I flew in for her birthday. My sister had made
cupcakes instead of a cake.
I believe she was waiting until she could see both of us one more time.

One lady in my apt. building...she is 108.
She gets assistance of some kind every day. She won't move!

She has been in the building for about 30 years and her apartment should be renovated but right now there is some government controversy going on about landlords' rights in evicting tenants...time will tell.

My neighbor will be 102 next month. She has had aids around the clock for the last few years but until then she led an active life. Even now I don't think she's in pain, just very weak.

My Mom will be 104 this Nov. The stories I've heard her relate about the depression era were almost unbelievable. She lived in a mining town way up north in Canada and her dad, the family bread winner, died young of TB in 1927, throwing the whole family into a tail spin then; 1929 happened  It was unimaginably tough for them for many, many years.
