Our town has been waiting for the new buffet to open.

Much anticipation

It opened last week
Mixed reviews
We dined there Sunday

All you can eat, $14

The outlay looked like their cuisine appeared to consist of Grocery Outlet's dumpster

We bravely pressed foreword (might as well...we're here)

The tossed salad looked ready to toss again
along with the watery salad dressing

There were a few other things we took a dab of, but don't quite know what it all was

Very nice people

No, these deep dried chicken bits are pretty much 'all we can eat'

The ice cream seemed pretty safe, as it was from a machine

Anyway
I've been experiencing some intestinal discomfort, and gurgly noises the last three days

Resulting in several salad shooters
and The Terminator (I'll be back)

I'm quite prepped for a colonoscopy

We're pretty cured of eating out....anywhere

Eateries are cutting costs to stay open

Too dangerous now

As I get older, I haven't found restaurant food to be that enjoyable. I watched a lot of Gordon Ramsey, Kitchen Nightmares and I learned what to key in on that would indicate that food isn't fresh or that it was shoddily prepared. And then there's the astronomical prices.

At one place we used to enjoy eating at, a breakfast now cost $60.00 for 2 people. That's ridiculous.

Most places don't impress me. They're run by hired hands who really don't know how to cook.

I agree on the ‘sticker shock’!

I’ve been out of the mainstream for 19 years and the higher prices of so many things just don’t have the BANG for the bucks that they did when I was working.
 
I finally went to a restaurant again. It was just two weeks ago. Relatives were visiting and it was more like a way to socialize. I've never spent that much for a meal at a medium scale restaurant before, although I was prepared for it. One thing I realize now is that eating out, while pleasant, was also a habit. It seems like a waste of money now. I'm sorry that a lot of nice places to eat went out of business, even if it's not a business vital to society's needs. My favorites around here have been gone for a couple years now.
 
I think I would avoid buffets as restaurant food in general is more and more a gamble. We used most of a $100 Outback Steakhouse gift card the other day. It was about $85 with tip for two. It was very good, but at quite a cost!

Otherwise, it is quite common to get reheated frozen food at restaurants.
 
You can report them to the county board of health. Probably should. If it’s some very bad bug causing the problem , like e.coli, that can kill people, especially children and the elderly.

Seriously. Call the county board of health.

In my area, where they actually still do restaurant inspections, places get closed down every week. The usual issues: vermin infestation or sometimes, lack of hot water.

Can you imagine washing all the cooking utensils with COLD water only, plus employees’ hands? That’s going to let all kinds of bugs spread.

Call the Health Department. You won’t run the buffet out of business. They will inspect the place, issue citations and orders to fix, then they fix the issues and re-open.
 
Never, I repeat, Never dine at a Restaurant that does not have its prices on the current menu.
We have 2 Restaurants we Dine in on Pool 8 Ball nights. Do not, I repeat, Order Top Sirloin.
Fish, Frog legs when in Season, Shrimp Alfredo are usually good. Chicken can be Crusty.

All the blow thru fast foods have ruined it all. Nothing decent is good for you anymore.
Every new and Decent ( on level ground ) Build is now fast food stores. Homes built on the side of Cliffs.
Fastest Growing industry is Fast Food and Warehousing. On the Level strips.
Google privately owned Agg lands in the USA / World.

Gary you may have Caught that Noro Virus. It goes that way. It seems to center around Sea Ports though.
Norfolk Naval Base, Virginia gave it its name. U feel bad for weeks. A Gastro Arss kicking, coughing nasal drip.
Noro Virus is very Contagious.

Nose Drops and Seven up helps.
