You probably have a fob and I don't!

I just aquired a Chevy Sonic with a FOB...
Greatest thing I ever had.. Love the idea to start the car and warm it up in the winter before getting in it from the house.. Love the idea to push a button and lock or unlock all the doors and back hatch at once..
The FOB is also the key.. Push a button on the top and out pops the key.. Push the button and the key is inserted back into the little FOB.......
The car came with 2 FOBS and I was told that another one is very very expensive.. Don't lose it...

It is convenient isn't it... I still think I need to hunt for my car keys in the bottom of my purse.. until I remember... No need to.. I touch the inside of the door handle and the car opens.. I have it set to only open the drivers side as I think that is safer for a woman.. Then I only have to push a button and the car starts.. It's great..

That's the beauty of a FOB.. you don't need to clutch it in your hand... you keep it in your pocket.. It never has to leave your pocket. unless you want to remote start your car. In which case.. you take it out an push a button.

FOB... Frequency operated base or button

My grandad had one on his watch chain. I wonder what frequency it operated at and what it operated?

I'm old fashioned, the regular keys are good enough for me. We have 3 vehicles, two with regular keys and my '07 Dodge has the controls on the key, but you can still open the door with the key and you use the key to start it up. Starting it in winter here and leaving it unattended will get you a ticket, but that feature would have come in handy when I was still working if not for all these new laws. :drive:
