"You taught me how to lie", (a lame excuse!)

Amongst the excuses those caught out trying to deceive in some way, or have been telling a downright lie over something you've uncovered is this: "You taught me how to lie"!

I know its mainly the response of a very juvenile mind, the attitude that whatever you might do must be someone else's fault etc., but it is a "thick one" isn't it, used to confound everyone.

That's called projection in my opinion. Also accusing someone of something you have done or are. The personality disorders are great with this. And I have experience dealing with personality disorders. With immediate relatives.
