You are absolutely right Jujube. Unless people witness first hand what you've witnessed, it's hard for them to comprehend. It's heartbreaking to even see it on T.V.
 
I’ve seen some pretty bad poverty on the Caribbean islands and I’m sure it doesn’t hold a candle to India. I have no interest in going there. it’s incredibly sad the level of poverty in some countries.
 
I have just returned from the Yucatan, Mexico. It's bad there but not as bad as India. I have been to India once and to Mexico 4 times. I prefer Mexico.

A high school friend of mine taught school in a village in the Yucatan for about 10 years 1972-1981/82 She had some interesting
stories.
