You know when you were a teen and there was that one record album you played until the grooves wore out? Isn't that funny, I still remember taping coins to the player arm so it would play through the skips. The album I have to add in it's entirety to my MP3 player is " Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy" by Elton John. I tell my kids I loved Elton back when he had hair the first time.

But every song, every word, every note...

Growing up in the 50's it was all about rock and roll. But then I switched to country music and my first LP was the Sons of the Pioneers greatest hits. My all time favorite. I was listening to it while I was trying my hand at painting in oils. My record player didn't have an automatic drop so I had to keep changing the record. Wouldn't you know I got oil paint in the groves. Needed a new needle and a new record which I bought. I'm not sure how my painting turned out.

It's got to be " Be My Baby", by the Ronettes. Well, obviously, I love the song. It was in the olden days. They didn't have all kinds of track and stuff So, it was recorded live -from the first note to the last. BTW, Sony Bono worked for the producer Phil Spector, and Cher probably sang back up. Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound" was extremely hard to record with the equipment they had at the time. It was engineered so that it would sound best on car radios. and "transistors".
Spector was a louse even back then. He had several black female groups. They were teenagers, more kids than adults, and they didn't know the music biz. They were supposed to get a check for $3,000, each. He met them for lunch. Gave then a check for $300, which they had to split. Plus he stuck them for the lunch tab.

Funny, I was never really into music until I was older. As a teen I tended not to buy records. But once I hit my early 20s, I started buying music. One that stands out for me was "Fleetwood Mac" (the group's 1975 self-titled album). Played that a ton. So many good songs on that album.
