Same here. I'd need 3 or 4 caplets of Ib - OTC, that's 600 to 800 mg - but the relief was quick and lasting. Tylenol did nothin'.I rarely need a pain reliever, but when I do, for anything from a rare headache to arthritis to muscle pain, I take one Ibuprofen and that usually sets me back to rights. If I sprain an ankle or pull a tendon, I take the recommended dosage of 2 every 6-8 hours for a couple of days. It's a great anti-inflammatory med for me. Tylenol, aspirin, don't do a thing for me.
Ibuprofen has always been my choice, and it shows no side affects on me or my liver. I'm in excellent health.
Aleve doesn't work very well for me and I don't know why. Motrin does, and I thought they were basically the same thing, but apparently not. I suppose an inert ingredient or even the coating could make a difference.I use Aleve. It generally works for headaches.
