Your favorite Salsa dips, brands, store bought or homemade.

I expected this thread to get wide attention since salsa and chips are favorite snack foods for many people. I've almost stopped eating chips since they gouge my gums, causing tenderness. Now and then, but rarely, I buy dip size Fritos. They're okay with salsa, but more often I have them with bean dip, or a creamy ranch dip.

I usually keep a jar of Wegman’s house brand hot salsa on hand.

Mixing it with sour cream or mayonnaise or both makes a nice salad dressing…could be a dip with corn chips.

i don’t use much dip but once a year at Christmas/New Year’s I mix a pouch of Lipton recipe secrets vegetable soup mix into a pint of sour cream with a good pinch of cayenne pepper.

It makes a nice dip for crudités and chips or a topping for a baked potato. Any leftovers along with odds and ends of leftover holiday cheese goes into the best macaroni and cheese of the year. 🐷🐷🐷

Chips also bother my gums at time, dip and creamy ranch oh yum!

I prefer the Herdez Mild Salsa brand. Their Medium and Hot varieties are too hot for us.
However, we prefer a more chunky salsa, more like pico de gallo.

So, I dress up the Herdez by adding one can of petite diced tomatoes, fresh cilantro and fresh diced onions, more cumin ,garlic ,dash of lime, little dash of olive oil.
This makes the jar salsa go further and is convenient in the winter when good fresh tomatoes are not as available.
Also works well on top of a lettuce salad or as a side dish.

It must be good because everyone wants me to bring it when we have a gathering.
