Your favorite singing voice types for male and female

Definitely male (tenor or baritone) as opposed to female. I realized that when I recently put together a playlist of songs for Alexa, and realized that I had put in almost exclusively songs by male singers. So I added a few by women, just to be fair. At least, I like Linda Ronstadt, Judy Collins, and the lady who sings Adelaide's Lament in Guys and Dolls.

But pretty much all the rest are men.

I find that with these two types, I can pretty much listen to anyone if the music is good enough. And for my favorite artists, the music almost doesn't matter because their voices carry it.
 

Interesting article RFW. I would think that many of the great singers are a sort of combo of voice types.

Janis Joplin was known for wide range......now I'm humming Me and Bobby McGee

For sure. I think most singers have a type that they mainly stick for the most part.
