he looks so young and still learning to sing swell!
yes but he couldn't have been young because Barry Gibb and Larry Gatlin wrote this song in 1985 just 3 years before Roy died...he looks so young and still learning to sing swell!
yes it's all celtic folk music ... irish Scottish, and even welsh.....Growing up, Bluegrass music was always around and as I grew, I heard the similarity to Irish music..
When I visited Ireland, it all hit hone,
American Bluegrass had its roots in the immigration from there.
I wasn't familiar with Sandy Denny. Nick Drake had a similar style of songwriting, but a few years after. I wonder if he was influenced by Sandy.yes it's all celtic folk music ... irish Scottish, and even welsh.....
You can even hear it in some English folk songs..like Fairport Convention
I'm a huge fan of Sandy Denny and Fairport... up until a few years ago I was still going to Copredy where FC play for a 2 day festival....I wasn't familiar with Sandy Denny. Nick Drake had a similar style of songwriting, but a few years after. I wonder if he was influenced by Sandy.
Both died tragically in the '70s — Drake from suicide and Denny from falling down a flight of stairs and hitting her head on concrete.
Here's a Nick Drake song that sounds similar to Denny's style...I'm a huge fan of Sandy Denny and Fairport... up until a few years ago I was still going to Copredy where FC play for a 2 day festival....
Sandy's death was a great loss to folk music.... I was not aware of Nick Drake...
One of my all-time favorite songs of any genre!!
