Other than you spouse.. your health...your pets.. your love of God and Country.. What material possession to you value the most.. Go ahead.. be materialistic.. it's ok once in a while...

For me... It's my new car... and my new wedding ring set...

I guess my computers because they keep me in touch with the outside world. You said that in singular but I bet a lot of us will have trouble just saying one item. I also love my books and my painting supplies. I have an old necklace I like, that my mom let me try on a few times when I was real little. It's made out of something that starts with an M (my daughter's not home so I can't ask her the name of it) and then has little plain looking garnets (my birth stone) in it. I wish I could remember where my mom said it came from and how old it is. Instead of a regular chain it has these little hing things that go around it. I've never seen one like it. So yeah, that might be my most prized possession. Good question QS.

Why my 1990 VW Westfalia Camper Van, she called precious for a reason..She may be slow up the hills, but she gets there no problem..

If the house was burning down...
A necklace my parents brought me back from the UK
As many of my Mom's inscribed books as I could carry
An armful of knicknacks with happy memories
A dog under each arm and cats on my head...the rat cage, must.get.rat.cage...
Woooof, then I collapse on the front lawn

Garnet is my birthstone too Linda... I had forgotten about the emerald cut Garnet ring my grandma got me for Christmas when I was 10 years old. I have to add that to my list.

A coffee mug that my wife bought me once when I had just lost my job. It says "Pencils 2 cents" and came complete with pencils and a pamphlet on "How to Make a Million Dollars Selling Pencils".

Funny you should ask. Someone just the other day at the coffee shop asked me what one thing do I value the most in my life besides the items that you mentioned. I told them what I tell everyone that asks this question, my first patrol car as a State Policeman and my first night as a solo Trooper. That is when I realized who I was, what I represented and what was expected of me. It was an awesome feeling.

Lol..I love that Underock. What a sense of humor!

i treasure my wedding rings and a music box that plays "Always".

I'm not materialistic, but I agree with Linda that my laptop would be the first and only thing I'd grab in a fire - it has important stuff on it that I wouldn't want to lose again.

My photo albums, many from the early 20's. A music box with a dancing doll from my Dad. It plays the Blue Danube. I have instructed my kids to bury me with it. I know you can't take it with you, but I' going down with music.

Well my house DID burn down last year. The only thing I tried to save unsuccessfully was my pets. I was in total darkness so fast. There was no time. The things I was sad to lose besides my pets were my photos and the things my kids had made me when they were little like a lopsided mug that said " I love you Mom". It was the sentimental things..

oh.. I didn't answer the question. My vehicle because without it I'm dependent .

I'm so sorry for your great loss. I can't imagine how you must have felt. Glad you got out safely. What an incredible person you are to have the strength to move on with your life. I admire you for that.

Thanks , but the real credit for my surviving so well goes 100 percent to my generous family and friends who carried me through the whole ordeal. My kids flew in from everywhere. They told me to just rest. They went shopping and got me everything I needed. My ex showed up while my house was burning and said " Forget about it. Let's go shopping. He took me to Dillard's and said " get whatever you want." He also paid my hotel bill for a month. There were 14 different people offering for me to live in their homes. Really I had to cry in gratitude. Every single one of my kids said " Come live with me Mom." I was never so touched in my life. My ex's new wife was amazing as well. She cooked for me for a week.

So glad you had the support when most needed. Goes to show you, how many good people there are in this world. Unfortunately we usually only hear about the bad eggs. The ex's new wife, above and beyond the call of duty. So nice of her.

On a nice day or evening we do enjoy a drive in our convertible. It is the 17th one that we have owned over the years.

Probably those @#$!&% packers full of family photos that I have been dragging around behind me for umpty-multeen years. I have a love/hate relationship with them. At times, I wish a hurricane would blow them out to the middle of the Atlantic Ocean and other times, I KNOW they'd be the first thing I go for in a fire.

A collection of photos I have, especially one of my baby sister holding my infant daughter circa 1975 other photos of my siblings and my adorable nephew's baby picture. I like my other possession just fine, but, replaceable or just not something prized to me, these photos not so much.

I would hate to lose my computer, but I could easily replace it. But if my car were stolen or stopped running, it would be at a huge loss, so I'll say my car. I named it Malib (mal-leeb'), because the U is missing from the word Malibu on it's tail end.

OOPS! Speaking of jewelry, my best friend wouldn't ever forgive me if I left this off my list, really, it is a prized possetion, a bracelet with half heart reading best, she has the other half with says friend. Really I should have let her have Best, but, oh well, my inner imp got the best of me in the moment. :daz: I would be upset if I lost the bracelet.

I'll have to go with the others who say their wedding rings. It hasn't come off my finger since the day it was put there, and it won't come off until I'm ready for the oven. My daughter has instructions to remove it, then add it along with my ashes to my husband's urn.

When you experience a house fire as I have ,the very first thing I thought of getting out was ...My Children ...all the other stuff is in many cases apart from photos/ previous jewellery is replaceable.
