Tomorrow is Groundhog Day and we will see what he has to imply regarding the arrival of spring.
I have my own prediction that I base on when Easter falls every year - April 4th this year.

If it falls in March, we will have an early spring.😁
If it falls in the 1st half of April, we will have a normal arrival of spring.🙂
And, if it falls in the last half of April, we will have a late spring.🤨

Does anyone else have something they can base a prediction of spring's arrival on?

I usually start measuring the minutes everyday from the start of each new year. Once I have my minute calculations adjusted to the movement & tides of both the Pacific & Atlantic oceans.

I turn on my TV march 20th. to see if the weather reporter has announced when it's officially spring.

I'd hate to jinx the exceptionally light and mild winter we've been having this year. Not much in the way of snow, not too cold, I hope it continues.

As for predicting spring, anything goes in our neck of the woods. In past years when it looked as though Old Man Winter was through, we were belted with dumps of snow, so I don't place any significance on any methodology behind predicting weather and seasonal patterns, but if luck has it, I'm hoping we're on the downhill slide and that spring is but weeks away.

You can never tell here in Clear Lake (Houston). Ours goes back and forth. High today to be in 60's but in 70's in a couple of days then back to 60's. We can have all seasons in the same week.

I use to read what the Farmer's Almanac predicted for winter, spring ,but the past couple of yrs they have been wrong especially where I live
I'm hoping for an early spring, but as others have said'Mother Nature will decide when spring comes'
