Your Strangest Dreams

I was hitch hiking the Jersey turnpike heading back to New York and I got picked up by a dude in a blue 68 Cougar. Said he was a manager for some singing group. Then he leaned over, put a gun under my chin and pulled the trigger. To this day, I steer clear of 68 Cougar's.
Does that qualify as strange?

Not the strangest, but I was napping this afternoon and dreamt I was sitting on my front porch, and some guy walked by carrying a capuchin monkey. He came over and he let me hold it while we visited. Odd.

I've had many strange dreams..hard to pinpoint one..I think the one that comes to mind as most memorable was dreaming I was in a payphone booth far from earth trying to phone to earth..but just could not connect any longer...reaks of how death may be..but then all of our functions wil be gone so there goes my dream to being unbelievable...

Wisdom is using those things that work for you, for as long as they work for you, and letting go of the things that are not working for you.

I suppose you could say all dreams are odd because they are suspensions of reality aren't they.

I think most people probably know the "falling dream" I often used to have as a child, where you think you're dropping through the clouds, though not frightened, so that's not really strange and is said to be connected to indigestion/eating cheese at night.

I've had strange dreams about my family, mother, father and siblings, and they maybe foretold the future you could say with hindsight, (involving disapproval for some foolish actions on my part usually?). They say we dream every night, and yet mostly aren't aware of them when we wake, and some of those we do remember we forget very quickly afterwards, and just a few stick with us.

BTW I dont know what wisdom is with any certainty, but following self interest all the time doesn't seem like the best way to live your life IMHO.

I also do that Pinky. But sometimes I get upset (in my dream) that there are wires in the way, and I will hit them.

In one of my dreams, I was able to "jump" (as in a track contest) a very long distance, and the crowd was very amazed and were clapping. At other times, I dreamed that I could jump very high (as in the high jump) but this was a very high-like as high as a building and again the crowd were amazed at my ability.

I once mentioned this to someone and they said it was because I had some kind of inferiority complex about physical exploits. That is probably true, because in school I was very slender, didn't weigh much and tried out for sports, but didn't get very far.

I forget most dreams, but once I had a dream that was so nice, I went back to sleep, hoping to get back into it, but it didn't work.
I was sitting at a tree & a whole bunch of animals surrounded me & let me pet them - including dangerous animals I'd never be able to pet - lions, tigers, etc.

What is strange to me is who appears in my dreams vs who doesn't. If, at some point I decided that I didn't like you, then you are apparently banned from my dreams. I have a number of immediate family members who "never make the grade."

Maybe this helps make my dreams happy ones.
I wish that worked for me. My ex appears in so many of my dreams, and he's always being nasty

I can't keep count of all the weird dreams I have had over the years. Just the other night I dreamt a little girl was lost and she needed me to help find her way home. While we were going to find her house we were being followed by many strange people. I woke up before we found her house.

Most of my dreams are at least eccentric, if not downright bizarre, but one in particular I recall. For some reason I had stolen the Oscar Meyer weinermobile and was trying to drive it down Lombard St. (the infamous "crookedest street in America") in San Francisco. It was desperately important that I get it down that street. I kept driving up over the curb and smashing the foliage but no one seemed to be bothered. Finally got to the bottom and I was in a circus tent somewhere, sans weinermobile. That's all I remember of it.

Very true grahamg...very insightful of you!

I had many dreams of falling when I was younger. Always had that feeling in my stomach too.

Just the other night I had a dream within a dream. A short-haired dog (white) came up to me a laid it face against mine. Then that dream morphed to another dream and the same dog came up to me again. Maybe I should get a dog. I googled it and here is what it says:
"Seeing a white dog in your dream often indicates a period of peace coming in your life."

Well that would be good as I lost my phone while I was vacationing in Florida last Sunday and never received it back. I have since bought a newer phone and I am even happier with this one.

Many weird dreams. Some always recurring. Flying? About a foot off the ground. Zooming everywhere. Lost and can't find my way home and wandering through scrapyards and into old buildings that I exit only to come out into another scrapyard. Then looking for something to eat and find a hamburger joint with a cook waiting to take my order. That's when I wake up.

I dreamed I walked into my 6th grade classroom and all the kids were wearing masks....like Carnival or MardiGras masks. There was one girl who didn't have one and she was walking away from me towards the back of the class where the cloakroom was, so I followed her....I could only see the back of her head, not her face. When I entered the cloakroom there was a door in the back that opened into a dark shadowy space, but it wasn't menacing or fearful only interesting and kind of inviting. At this point all I could see of the girl was her eyes in the darkness and her hand beckoning to me so I kept approaching. I woke up then.
This was a month or two ago.

Months ago, I dreamed of my dad (I'm daddy's girl, he looked like a movie star in the 50s in my dream) we were in a setting that looked like our classroom in med school. Dad was giving me advice on switching careers, or that's what I remembered. I didn't want to wake up from that dream. I miss him terribly since he passed away in 2004.

Being able to fly is one that I enjoyed as it would feel so real.
I would have dreams of work - pretty normal I guess?
I do have dreams of loved ones who have passed. Sometimes these feel so real. I like to have these but there is no rhyme or reason as to why any of the dreams I have occur. At least that I can tell?
Even with ms gamboolgal right beside me and me holding her tight, I will dream of her.

I once logged my dreams. I always seem to have one dream, wake up, and then a completely different dream after I fall asleep again. I always remember my dreams when I wake up.

They're always weird. I used to have a 1959 Austin Healey. I'd dream that I would drive the thing up the winding steps of a castle watchtower and then be stuck at the top with nowhere to go and no way to get down. I've had that dream more than once, years after I got rid of the car.

I've had dreams where I could fly as I hovered just above the pavement, or propel along the road just sitting on my butt.

Man, I know I've had crazier ones than that. But I can't recall specifics. Perhaps that's a good thing.
