YouTube one of the most useful apps we have as seniors!

I love YouTube! How many times have I used it to aid with a mechanical or other problem. And its also a big help in determining "what's best to buy" - but you do have to be careful and weigh opposing views.
 
I started a YouTube channel in 2008. I was fairly popular for awhile. I got attacked by haters, and retired for a decade or so.

I'm doing sporadic vlog videos now. I'm dealing with some health concerns, so the videos are low priority for awhile.

Would you mind sharing the url of your channel. I would like to see what you did/do/doing. :)

I think several people on the SF have channels.

We have used Youtube a lot lately dealing with our new/used car...a 2004 VW Passat. We have looked at several to figure out how to operate some things and how to fix several things. "You can find anything you want at Alice's Youtuberant." 🎶 :)
 
I love you tube for fixing stuff, documentaries, right now though my favourites are "a chick called Albert" this gentleman, such a kind , caring man. "Rewilding Jude" this young man took himself to the wilds of Scotland, bought himself a house and taught himself DIY, he's grown a garden , canned, and is well on the way to be pretty self sufficient. Built the best chicken coop and bought chicks from a rescue. The world needs more young men like Jude.
 
I ended my subscription with other media services except for Amazon Prime and Youtube Premium. I love the music found on Youtube, the kind of music you can't anywhere else.
 
A big fan of YouTube too...besides all the already mentioned wonderful channels, I like to use it to help make up my mind in buying different products,
I used it this week to research battery stick vacuum cleaners.
 
I want to throw my support behind YouTube, too. It's been incredibly helpful over the years and, as @roadhogg said, it has a lot of great, hard-to-find music and film content.

I recall looking up a video on YouTube for how to fasten a necktie, so I could help my son for his first dressy band concert back when he was about 13 or so. We tried doing a Windsor knot, and even though it's not that difficult a task we weren't successful, and his kind band director helped him tie it.

(I often wonder if my son ever looks back and remembers those efforts.)

Unfortunately, it seems about 20% of it is AI Slop now. I watch YouTube almost exclusively and love it. However, the impact of AI generated content is ruining many parts of the internet. Disturbing, but not downright scary like it is about to become!
