the thing with me Marie is that when I watch a Youtube video it's of something that's usually going to be of great interest to me.. so when it lasts 30 seconds or a minute .. I don't feel any value from it..

I understand. we all have different interests. I just watch if from a channel I am already following or subscribed too. I too prefer longer vids

My problem with YouTube videos is that it's "down the rabbit hole" for me.
Say I want to look at a song video. I do but there's another one suggested and I look at that.
Then over there on the right is a video that has nothing to do with a song BUT IT LOOKS SOOO INTERESTING so I check it out.
BUT WAIT! There's a video about something way out in left field and I HAVE to check it out.
Two hours later, my legs are numb and I'm watching some video about opal mining in Australia, I should have been in bed an hour ago and I can't remember the name of the song I looked up originately but I'm sure I liked it......

Being that my TV is smarter than me, I stream everything there. So, I watch a lot more You Tube than if I just had my computer ot tablet. So, that is A LOT of videos of all shapes and sizes

Exactly the same for me... I never watch the shorts even from the people I'm subscribed to. I figure if they want to do that, go to TikTok (which I detest, but the shorts are just YT trying to mimic TT, I think.)
