Recently mentioned in the "art of conversation" thread was the often limited scope of discussions during social face to face communications. I expanded that to web communities like we have here at Seniorforums dot com. I related how I'll continue to add some science threads that are reasonably grasped for the rest of we older folks in order to broaden discussions in this community, even if few others respond. So here is another subject that should be interesting to many here IF they watch these two Youtube videos.
The Zoo Hypothesis to the Fermi Paradox was once considered an extreme fringe idea that long ago I thought was far more likely than mainstream science considered.
Fermi paradox - Wikipedia
But over decades that has greatly changed. That change has recently dramatically changed despite lack of news media interest, by advances in understanding possibilities of future AI termed Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). And for this person, that also points towards possibilities of ancient Ultimate Intelligent Entities (UIE), that also has religious implications.
snippet:
Join world-renowned physicist Brian Cox as he delves into one of the universe's greatest mysteries: Are we alone? This thought-provoking journey (12:27 minutes) takes us through the staggering expanses of the cosmos, exploring the profound question of extraterrestrial life...
Tackling the enigmatic Fermi Paradox, Cox delves into the intriguing contradictions between the high probability of alien life and the lack of concrete evidence. Why haven't we found them yet? Are they avoiding us, observing from afar like a cosmic zookeeper?
Brian Cox - Alien Life & The Zoo Hypothesis
This second longer Youtube video of 42:39 minutes, is well presented at a simple science level ordinary folk can understand about another idea I've long leaned towards that also for decades has been considered to be at the extreme fringe of science but again has recently made such an impact that many former dominant abiogenesis proponents are now singing a different tune. And one will readily understand why that is by watching this well presented video. An idea that also points to Directed Panspermia and the Zoo Hypothesis.
