We people of my age bracket have been told since day one to always wash chicken but now it is said it is not necessary and evern wrong because it leaves bacteria in the kitchen. So with that said will you quit washing chicken? It also said to defrost your steaks in the fridge not on the counter. This advice on chicken and steak both from Consumer 101 show on Saturday morning. This is not the first time I have heard no need to wash chicken. I guess the producers never heard of Lysol or Clorox.
P.S. I will still wash my chicken A lot of bacteria concerns should come from how clean the butcher's tools and areas are so I rinse my beef and pork as well.
