When you create a thread asking a question ....,

I THINK this was said in a joking way, but sometimes I'm dense.

Regardless, I'm gonna add here that as this is a discussion forum, adding that one doesn't take showers but substitutes baths instead would be a valid point in a discussion about showers. It adds to the discussion, opens it up to further points of view.

If one simply wants boolean responses, create a poll. Then the only possible result is yes/no.

To some extent it depends on the subject... I guess.

If there is a thread about a football team, I see no reason to click on it and post that I couldn't care less about that team because i have no interest in football.

Why bother? What's to discuss?

Oh. OK. Yeah I see what you're saying.

In that case, sure. There are many threads that I don't even both to click on because the thread title and glimpse of the discussion when I hover over it make it obvious that there's nothing I can or want to contribute to the subject.

Just let me think for a moment:confused: --I think my last bath might have been in 1998 and for a shower - - - -maybe 2005, but I'm not sure. Have to check with my wife.

A pretty personal question but I didn't want to just by-pass the discussion.:biggrin-new::biggrin-new:

Haha...so you just use baby wipes?

I seldom start a thread unless I have a very important health question but I don’t even like doing those anymore. I’m not consistent with my time on here...goes in spurts. Some days I see my avatar in every other thread and some days I don’t post at all, so I feel if I start a thread that I have to be around for replies.

I do like to reply though...mostly to the fun stuff, usually avoid serious discussions.

Same with me, mostly the Medicare topics. I’m happy with my plan so I don’t bother with those.

Also...and this is childish but I’ve been burned a few times already... if the OP is on my sh*t list (sorry, couldn’t think of a better word and I don’t have anyone on ignore) I won’t reply to that post no matter how interesting.

Only One or two people on that list.:)

Youd think I’d have more, lol

LOL, gumbud! Decades later I still remember a newspaper cartoon where the wife is at her makeup table getting ready for a night out and her husband just came out of the shower with a towel wrapped around his body. The wife says, "Honey, please stop telling people you can't remember the last time you took a bath".

yep reminds me of the two nuns taking a bath together [ water shortage ] and No.1 nun says to the other nun " wears the soap?" and the other says " yes it does doesn't it" - may need to mull that over a bit??

Of course, as long as it is related closely.
If you ask an open ended question, you should not just say
you don't know or you have no answer.
If someone asks, how do you like your potatoes?----
Why do people write that they don't eat them? Irrelevant.

I see a lot of that on Amazon questions about items. Someone will ask a question about an item and invariably someone will say they don't know the answer or they haven't bought the item. Then why answer? I find it irritating, imagine the frustration of the questioner.
