I don't like it..

Grapefruit. Terribly tart even with lots of sweetener on it and, despite using a serrated spoon, it's so much trouble to eat! :noway:

I love fruit wholeheartedly, but must say grapefruit is one I can pass up forever. The very name is an insult to the grape.

I love all fruits, but they don't love me, unfortunately. I cannot tolerate any citrus fruits, or any other fruits with high acidity or small, hard seeds, like figs and raspberries. If I cook the heck out of some fruits that are on my offenders list, I can enjoy them, but, over the years, the long cooking/stewing times have led me away from them.

The only fruit I can think of that I really don't care for is eggplant. I have to be careful about eating cucumbers - as hollydolly once said about brussels sprouts, "I like them but they don't like me".

There are commercial varieties of most fruits that can be somewhat disappointing. And there are those that lose something in the way they're harvested, shipped, and handled. But overall, I like most fruits. :):eek:nthego:

I love grapefruit. I start out my breakfast every morning with it sprinkled with a little sugar.

The only fruit I can think of that I really dislike is mangoes.

I like most fruit. The trouble is that much commercially grown fruit and vegetables is pretty tasteless - that's why I grow what I can or get it from our friends at the market garden. It's also ridiculous that you can buy fruit totally out of season. Stuff grown on the other side of the world and flown thousands of miles.

I LOVE pink grapefruit. I peel it and eat it like an orange. I dislike mushy apples. I am extremely allergic to eggplant-had one bite and broke out in hives.

Seeds.

"The surprising news is that, scientifically speaking, many of the foods we refer to as vegetables are actually fruits!

For instance, would you believe that beans, corn, bell peppers, peas, eggplant, pumpkins, cucumbers, squash and tomatoes are all fruits? That’s because, botanically speaking, fruits are the part of flowering plants that contain the seeds and are the means by which such plants disseminate those seeds.

So even nuts are fruits. Grains, which are really just oversized seeds, are also fruits.

So what about vegetables? Botanically speaking, vegetables are all the other parts of the plant, including the leaves (e.g. lettuce and spinach), roots (e.g. carrots and radishes), stems (e.g. ginger and celery) and even the flower buds (e.g. broccoli and cauliflower).

To sum it up – if it is from a plant and has seeds (or would have seeds if it wasn’t genetically engineered or cultivated to not have them, as with things like seedless grapes), it is a fruit; if it doesn’t, it is a vegetable."

But popularly, we classify sweet as fruit and savory as veg.
