You seem to enjoy telling people they are wrong. When the question was asked there where all kinds of reasons given while you would not go and disputing the assumption that Mars would be colonized and one of the reasons was because Earth will be doomed.

We have strayed far from the OP. I never answered so here is mine. If I'm late start without me.
It will be nerve racking to monitor the trip via the news because it wil take so long and if something does go wrong the agony of knowing there is nothing anyone can do will be haunting forever.

Going to Mars
I think about the why of leaving earth and colonizing another planet. Population increasing and resources decreasing seems to me to be a good reason to relocate. When the scale is tipped beyond being able to relocate then what?

Just yesterday I saw a piece about a meteor that missed Earth by I forgot how many millinon miles but had the meteor been six hours earlier it would have hit Earth.
