It seems like this forum is getting a bit stale.

Good to see you again Phil, hope your health is better now.

Thanks, SB. I've been a good boy and have been watching my diet fairly closely, so my sugar levels are much better now. Also I'm slowly replacing my pain meds with medical cannabis.

Sounds good Phil, glad you're staying as healthy as possible. :peach:

Well, let's not get too enthusiastic ... I'm still a bad boy, doing those midnight raids on the fridge, etc. ... but I have, amazingly, ended my long-term relationship with pepperoni pizza!

That’a man SituPhil:clap:
Its MUCH better for you

I really do think so. I've spent so many hours researching side effects of both prescription and natural medicines, and I just cannot justify going with Big Pharma for things like pain relief. Especially with the big opioid problem in the country.

I couldn’t agree more. :smug1:

This place is exactly what I've been looking for. I've been very active on two political leaning forums over the past few years and recently got burned out to a crisp with those. So far, the topics and camaraderie here are wonderful. I look forward to getting to know everyone better!

oooh enjoy Annie... this is a politics free forum, and most of us have been around for a long time here , so we know each other as well as you can know anyone on a forum who've you've never met , and who in some cases live thousands of miles apart .... :wiggle::happy:

I love that it's politics free! But if I veer towards it out of long habit, gently steer me back! :) I love history, and it's easy to get to political from historical topics, esp since I'm a white American Southerner who grew up as the Jim Crow era was falling apart! My years working in healthcare with wonderful black contemporaries-- coworkers (friends!) and patients --has been a wonderful time! We've seen so much positive together ...are really making history now that I think about it...

Oh don't get too worried, we all slip up now and again, and then remember to not take it any further..

I wish I knew what the rest of your post meant , I can hazzard a guess, but our political system works very differently to the USA... and really we don't think of anyone in terms of colour .. that's not any aside at you Annie, just a way of explanation that I know that politically as well as domestically in the USA, colour and race plays a big part in certain areas, but not here.. so I can't really connect with anything like that , because genuinely I don't understand it..

however it's a good thing we're not discussing politics isn't it..LOL

It's actually a Brit who has managed to write the most engaging observation of my world and its recent changes. Richard Grant's Dispatches from Pluto is a must read for any Blues fan! He doesn't cover the awful past, but paints a pretty good picture of contemporary times here.
