Just checking the new format

Not only do I hate this new format I especially hate the 'like' feature. It's an immature popularity device and used on other forums to gang up and bully. I don't believe that would happen here, but I do see it as foolish.
I hated the like feature too, but I like it already only after one day. It makes it so easy to interact with others, I read a lot and 'like' a lot, but I only 'like' good posts. I can be quiet but very social.

Matrix, thank you again for your hard work here. Really appreciate it and think its perking along fine and dandy!

I like this about as much as I liked having to go from windows 7 to windows 10. This brave new world of technological advances where as soon as you get used to something and it's starts feeling comfortable and familiar the rug gets yanked out from under you gives me a case of the ass.

Here's a clip from the movie catch 22 that sums up my feelings about the new format.

Don't hold back, Trade 😉🤣

Being Admin on a forum can often be a pretty thankless job as is clearly evident from some of the responses on the various threads relating to the new upgrade.

No one even thinks about the (entirely voluntary and unpaid!!) time and effort involved in maintaining the forum’s smooth running operation, and yet Admin hears about it relentlessly when something doesn’t work right (even though a percentage of the time it’s simply user error) or there’s necessary tweaking or upgrades when a format becomes outdated and is no longer supportable technically.

I don’t like that. And it’s not even my forum! But it makes me uncomfortable so again I want to say A big THANK YOU to Matrix for
voluntarily putting yourself in the line of fire. I appreciate you. 💕

TLDR; No thanks or acknowledgement when things are running well, criticism and negativity when they aren’t. 🥺

Matrix, thanks for adding the date joined and the location. Ken N told me I had to click on the name (thanks Ken), but it's nicer seeing it without having to click. I'm already starting to like the new format.

Ronni = "No thanks or acknowledgement when things are running well, criticism and negativity when they aren’t. " Yes, so true, and in all facets of life and all careers.

Matrix, I wish I hadn't said anything, but I did. It's just an opinion, and certainly not a personal criticism of you. I don't believe you took offense, but for anyone who thinks so on Matrix' behalf, nothing more to see here folks, sorry for the misdeed.

Don’t be ridiculous, of course I’m not offended. I need opinions to improve the forums.:geek: Not sure why I like this smiley.

So far this year I have had to get a new computer which has Windows 10 instead of Windows 7 like my old one, so I'm having to try to learn to live with that.

Then both the credit unions that I use decided to change their names and their websites. So there's two more learning curves I'm having to deal with.

The the grocery store where I shop decided to rearrange everything so now I have to hunt for stuff that I used to know where to find.

And now this.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. Site looks a little different, and a couple of functionalities have changed, but it all minor stuff.

It's kind of fun poking around here and seeing what does what. Plus reading threads (like this one.) also helps with all the good info about the new digs. I would also like to thank Matrix for all his hard work, setting it up and helping all of us. Plus SeaBreeze and all other posters with their help in making the jump easier. Thanks All.. 😉
