What Activities Do You Do Outside the Home?

I cut trees down. I drag trees to an open area. I saw them into smaller pieces. I split them on site. I load them in the trailer to take to the house. I unload the trailer out at the woodpile. I stack the wood and cover so I'll be ready to carry into house in the winter. 🥵 And in my free time, I have started to dig out the new spring fed pond the wife has always wanted. And... with the rest of the free time, I have started to overhaul the wife's motorcycle engine... that being in between whichever of our seemingly thousands of vehicles needs an oil change, brake job, clutch, etc. Of course, I still have to find the time to bush hog the other 20 or so acres around the property. o_O
Golden years my a$$. Pfftttt

The hubby and I go to the casinos in Atlantic City once in a great while. I prefer to use the pool and metal detect on the beaches. He throws enough in the slots for them to ask us back once in awhile. When my daughter comes with the family no telling where I'll end up. I walked the Brooklyn Bridge, went to water parks, fished, hiked and went clamming when they lived in Oregon. Once they moved to DC I visited Washington, and went on an evening cruise on the river.

Went on three trips this year, go for Coffee Monday, Wednesday( with friends, Sunday(with friends), I walk everyday, went camping with the family this year, I do all the housework around the house, my wife is on a walker, I go to church on Sunday, I have people stop by the house a lot. I help Veterans on their V.A. claims, I do other things, to keep life interesting , I write some, I'm having a hard time with my sight now, but I will work around it.

drop a few thousand on the roulette tables, negotiate with business associates on the next shipment from South America and listen to podcasts on the power of narcissistic thinking .

So do you exercise at all 😬😅

Games with friends such as bridge, Scrabble, rummicub, once a week each, lunch or dinner out with friends, walking, performing with our theater group, club meetings, lectures, movies, occasional travel. Going to Chicago in a couple of weeks to visit my granddaughter and her husband.

I don't get out much and looking for new things to do when I get out there.
Ruthanne,

Volunteering at the local SPCA or another animal shelter might be a good way to meet some likeminded folks and critters.

In this area, they are always looking for people to help with fundraisers, clean cages, feed/water/groom, exercise/play with animals, and provide foster care to animals with special needs.

Good luck!

I don't get out much either. I bought a camera thinking I'd get out and take some pictures
or try to walk a little more than I do. I walked six blocks the other day, three up and three back.
I meditated most of the way. Otherwise, I may not have made it.

Our local rec center has programs and classes. Dave and I play bridge once a week, but they also offer a regular dominoes group, silver sneakers, even day trips. We eat out with our neighbors once a week. I like to plan short trips or day trips every now and again.

Sounds like a good plan AB! I do love animals.:)

I have a goal to walk more. I like to photograph landscapes, flowers and stuff, too!

We moved from West Texas to Oklahoma eight years ago. At that time my wife wanted to find a church to join so we might make some friends. I didn't want to and we didn't. Now I wish we had. Neither of us has any friends and I regret it for her sake. She has settled in with the television, I with the computer. Neither of us ever learned bridge. Now we're too old or I am. I have no interest now. Nor does she. I suspect she would trade me for a new blouse or a new pair of flats. But that's the way it goes. Of course, I'm joking. but I d wish things were better for her.

I hear you, I am in a somewhat similar situation. You do have each other, though.

Only what is necessary outside during the summer, just too hot. I do walk to the store or to a restaurant once a week if it's under 110F.

Winter is a very different story. Walks in the morning, walk to shopping. Downtown there is a very nice theater, they have "Lunch Time Theater" so I will meet a friend or two. See the play then go to lunch. Sometimes Hubby and I go to a coffee house to hear music or another place for jazz. We take light rail into the urban core then walk to where we want to do. Tons of festivals etc here in the winter.

I need to go to the gym in the super early mornings in the summer. Have to be home by 7am or I will cook.

Yes, we do have each other, @Ruthanne I'm going to try to walk more. The wife can out walk me and I walk too slow for her so we walk separately.
We both use a walker. I broke mine and can't fix it. It is unusable the way it is. Walking separate one is all we
need. The wife doesn't use one except when she takes her walks.

I hope you can get another walker. Walking problems can be a big pain.
