Anyone seen Ruthanne?

I have mixed feelings on publicly posting about someone who hasn't been around, especially for only a week. It's nice to be missed for sure, but these threads always lead into trying to analyze where that member was last , what they might have been feeling, whether they're mad and left for good, etc., etc.

If I'm really concerned over the absence of someone, I personally just send them a private message (conversation), most will see the notification on the forum page and choose whether to reply to it or not, some of us don't receive emails for private messages, but many do, so the person can usually be contacted that way if they want to be contacted.

In my mind, sometimes a member may be in a slump about something, having trouble financially, emotionally, physically...and just need some time alone to sort things out. Bringing public attention to someone who just may quietly want to slip out of activity for a little while, and slip back in without questions, etc. can be uncomfortable for them. I'm a pretty private person, and I know I'm not alone.

If I'm not mistaken, Ruthanne has barely been gone for over a week. I hope whatever her reason is (and she doesn't need one), that she's okay and not having any serious health issues. Hoping to see her around when she is ready to participate in the discussions again.

It is nice though, that this is such a caring group, I've said that many times before. It's neat to have online friends who want to share our happy and sad times, especially important for those who find themselves alone, perhaps home bound and can't get out and about every day to do things and talk to people, like many of us can.

Bugger or "buggar" is a swear word. In the United Kingdom, the term is a general-purpose expletive, used to imply dissatisfaction, or to refer to someone or something whose behaviour is in some way displeasing or perhaps surprising. from Wikipedia.

A very good friend of mine used to be an editor of a magazine and would not allow his staff to use Wikipedia as a reference, what isn't mentioned is, bugger is not always used as an expletive or swear word in the U.K.

I did not realize this.
Thank you.

Yes I understand that now. Here in Canada and the US I suppose it is. Besides which I should have added a smiley face โ˜บ๏ธsince I was only kidding.
I found it quite funny. ๐Ÿ˜œ

In my part of the world, "bugger" is used in jest to get a friend's attention, as in "hey, bugger!" More in "local" talk though, how guys may reference each other

In my neck of the woods it's common for children to be called "bugger lugs" and is a term of affection. Bugger can be used as a swear word, term of affection or simply in jest and the way Bee used it is also common usage where I live and simply used in place of saying nobody or no-one.

In my world, 'Bugger' is applied to good horse, but temperamental; also applied to humans that have certain characteristics...
often applied to humans for no particular reason as in Army nicknames.
Language is a shifty rascal...

I agree cause I use the term cheeky bugger often.
Itโ€™s most often used as a โ€˜terms of endearmentโ€™ but not always ๐Ÿค“๐Ÿคญ

Hi @hollydolly and everyone. Thank you for your concern about me. I just took a break from here for awhile. There wasn't anything that upset me, just needed some time to myself. Yes, I've been on FB posting some. Some of my family and other friends are on there so I keep up posting most days there so I can kind of chat with them. They live so far away and it's the only way I get regular contact.

I decided to pop in this morning and see what's happening with everyone. I hope you all are doing well. I'm feeling pretty good today.

Thanks again so much for your concern everyone.
