How may times have you moved in your life?

Between the Navy and a restless spirit, more times than I can remember. There are a few states that have never felt my shoe leather, but not many.

Being born into a military family from birth until 18, moving was part of life. Five countries. four U.S. states, and moving houses even within those areas numerous times, Not to mention switching schools every two years or even less. I don't want to even stop and count. Thank goodness my dad and his family are from Hawaii so upon his retirement from the service, I have lived here in Hawaii ever since and don't ever want to move from here. Of course, one can never predict future circumstances.

My husband and I bought a house across the street from where I was born and raised. We lived there until a little over a year ago to a new house. So in my entire life I have only lived 2 places. We went from the city to a suburb and I am still trying to get adjusted. The benefit is that everything is on one floor and even better than that is that my daughter only lives a few minutes away.

I've lived in Italy (one place), Venezuela (one place), Massachusetts (3 places), Connecticut (5 places), Florida (2 places), Arizona (5 places). So, 3 countries, 4 states, 17 residences. I get itchy to move every 5 years, but old age has made me lazy, I think I'll now stay here until I croak.
Italy! Did you like it?

I've moved many times, went to eight different schools, not counting any military experience, I have been a restless soul.

My dad was career military, so a lot. I have moved often as an adult, but less often as I have gotten older. Now we are in our last house, happy to never pack again even though I don't own much "stuff".

I have moved 14 times, I never minded moving until the last time I moved, that was in 2011. It was the first time I used movers for the big items and I moved everything else myself. If / when I move again it will be with full service movers, the thought of pick up trucks full of stuff, Trying to angle furniture through doors, etc, has absolutely no appeal.

I have moved 4 times in my life. From my parents house to college, then I found my first apartment, then I got married and moved to my wife’s house, then we were able to buy our house.

About 10 times for me, mostly when I was young. We moved here in 1984, and frankly I'm ready for a change (of domicile, not of city), but you couldn't move my hubby out of here with a stick of dynamite. The problem with moving frequently, in my opinion, is that every time you move, you take a hit to the pocketbook. Realtor fees, moving expenses, things like that. So it makes more financial sense to stay put for a while. And in my current situation, the house is paid for, it's comfortable, we like our neighbors, and the location is good. Makes sense to stay. Sometimes I hate being practical. LOL!

We were always moving when I was a kid. In basic training we had to fill out some form to see what kind of security clearance we could get and we had to write down the addresses of all the places we lived. I remember I came up with 21 at that time. I haven't tried to add up the ones since then but my life has been more stable since then. I don't think it's much over 30 now.

Edit. Just counted them up since Basic. 15 more for a total of 36. So, I'm 72 now. That's an average of once every two years.

Like you I moved a lot as a kid, but unlike you we seldom moved very far. Most of my childhood was spent in the Clearwater/Largo area of Florida.
