"A 25-year-old man from Northern Ireland has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the deaths, according to Essex police. "

It's thought the victims may have been migrants from outside Europe. At this time they don't really know who they are, how they died, only that this container was shipped out of Bulgaria into a port in Ireland.

The video says the French are now tightening their borders.

edit- The 39 people found dead in a refrigerated trailer in Essex were Chinese nationals.

The truck was picked up at the docks in Essex (about 40 minutes from here ) ... They were Chinese... being picked up by a Northern Irish truck driver.. seems they'd been stowed in a freezer after crossing the channel..and all died a horrible death!
 
I've been reading more about this. Appears human trafficking has been going on for some time as migrants, desperate to get into Britain, take their chances.
 
I really can't go into this much more because it will take us into political discussion... but I just want to say 2 things...

It transpires that there were 3 trucks loads of migrants in the convoy with the one where the migrant Chinese died.. all from China and all on the same day. 2 got through, so god alone knows how many are getting through on a daily basis.. and it seems the Chinese paid £30k each to the smugglers to get them here.

Secondly these are Chinese, so there are very many more countries closer to China than this tiny island of the UK... where these people could go and make a living if that's what they want. the truth is we're the only country who will imediately house migrants, and give them free money in the form of benefits, and never expect them to work!!... .. so the smugglers take the huge fee with a promise of streets paved with gold ,( in this instance a Northern Irish couple have been arrested,) and smuggle them in..(and you know it must be easy to do otherwise there wouldn't be so many getting through)... and when they get here they're then worked as slaves in the pedicure and massage industry...

Compared to where these folks come from, the benefits your country and mine give away are like heaven. And the traffickers make promises that sound wonderful to uneducated, desperate people. And the trap is sprung.

This is my understanding of all of it also. It’s the same types of situations with people trying to get into other countries. Money is paid, there’s a huge risk and the people traveling are expected to make lots of money to send back to help the rest of the family back home. Some want it so bad that they end up working in the sex industry but don’t get any of the money. They are basically slaves. It’s almost 2020 and slaves still exist. It’s horrible. So sad.

They aren’t so meager in many countries. If they get together and share living arrangements, get government assistance and then work under the table , tax free, they could make quite a bit. The basic idea being that they then sent some money home. It really makes me wonder how many other truckloads of people never make it. It’s haunting even.

Gotta leave this story alone.
