Phony calls to Child Protective Services.

Child Services in Pennsylvania is well aware that phony calls are made against individuals for different reasons. When a claim of abuse is made against an individual, it won’t be investigated unless the person making the claim gives their name, address, etc. Their personal information is held confidential, at least for the time being. If the claim is proven to be false, charges may be filed against the individual who made the claim. If the claim is proven to be true, it will be up to CPS to decide how they will proceed. One thing to keep in mind is that if a case would be remanded to the court. At that time, it may be very likely that the defendant would face their accuser.

Although I have never assisted in removing a child or children from a home, I am sure it’s never a pleasant thing to do.

Here, in CA, if police find ANY mark on a woman that appears like a bruise, they are required by law to make an arrest. Then the guy has the burden to prove it was false - which is very costly & may not be possible, even after paying thousands in legal fees.
If the clock were turned ahead 20 years, before domestic abuse laws were changed, I would likely have been arrested & charged. And any firearms in the house would be confiscated. And if was proven to be a false claim, the legal fees for getting them back would be very costly - win or lose. And he'd probably lose.
 
Interesting timing. Today's Judge Judy cases involved false accusations of assault & sexual accusations by women.
In one case, a guy felt bad for a co-worker who needed to repair her car & she said she couldn't afford it. The guy lent her $700.00 & said, "Pay it back whenever you can." After several months went by, when he asked her if she could make a small payment, she accused him of hitting on her.

Legal fees are costly anywhere and this is why people need to think before they act out.

I don’t understand the last 3 lines of your post. Are you saying that in California if you are arrested and your firearms are confiscated that you have to go to court to get them back? (If the charges were proven false.)

Exactly. And the legal fees are usually higher than the firearms' value, & the process can take years, so in most cases the guy just gives up. I consider that "Legal Theft."
 
Liars, embelishers, spinners, story contortionists are bad enough. But false victims. To me they are the war criminals of personal disputes, debates, feuds etc.

Just recently it was implied to me that they were getting ready to go to the authorities for elder abuse. making threats etc. They talked extremely legal for them. It could've been their way of trash talking along with their anger. Already have to walk on egg shells around them to avoid emotional visceral outburst but falsely turning someone in to the system, NO. Right off the bat their bringing in a third party to fight a battle between you and them. But it also shows they want what ever dispute/fight taken into the gutter.

I'll say it again these people are the war criminals of personal disputes along with a criminal because they if the swear or write these things down for the authorities they just committed fraud, filed a false police report etc.

The child might spend their entire life blaming them self, the other parent has to deal with the lies and the backlash from unfair gossip for an infinite amount of time. There IS shame no matter how it turns out.

Sometimes these lies last for a lifetime and go unresolved. It’s incredibly damaging for everyone and sickening knowing it’s all due to one person’s evil intentions. What I don’t understand is how do these types of liars live with themselves? Personal integrity must not mean anything to them.

And I can really go on about it.

The topic veers to courts, attorneys, money.
Poor people cannot afford justice.
We avoid attorneys, court system, we just cannot afford it.
If you track the monies involved in justice in America, or any other nation
you will become exasperated, indignant and confused.
It is as difficult as trying to decipher the national budget.

You want justice, especially regarding civil issues, your going to have to buy it;
you want to ESCAPE justice, you can buy that too.

Quite honestly, that’s ridiculous. In fact, it makes no sense to me. In PA, in a similar situation, the weapons are returned.

LAPD has a corruption problem. If you haven't already, look up the Rampart Scandal.
Police would rather keep confiscated guns in their evidence locker. Officers have the keys & they sell the guns back on the street to gang members who can't legally buy guns due to felony convictions. Why? Simple. A $600.00 Glock goes for $8,000.00 on the street. A few of those per year = a nice income, tax free.

I was in the same racket, adults only, no minors.
Our building housed us and CPS, would wander down there, exchange war stories. Ug! I could not handle the kiddies, no way-nope, someone be dead.

CPS was not above 'flinching' some of the more peculiar items found in the homes (magazines , items you've heard about, not seen...)
I was down there yaking, fella pulled out a magazine titled 'Golden Showers.'
I was fortyish, unaware that such material was actually available.

I have heard a lot of stories about the Rampart scandal and the CRASH team. The last that I had heard was that the cases were still under investigation and some were still being settled.

It only came to light because the department started to investigate some officers' lifestyle which was way above their salaries - boats, planes, 2 & 3 vacation homes, really pricey cars, etc. & found that they were paid for by cocaine & illegal gun sales - from the police evidence locker. They arrested one officer & offered him a deal if he testified about a bunch of other officers.
And, ironically, a police officer was killed by a gang member who was later caught & the gun he used was traced to the police evidence locker.
Hundreds of cases had to be thrown out because of tampered evidence & criminals released.

I always chuckle when police officers at the scene of a drive-by shooting go on TV & say, "We are determined to get these guns off the street."
 
Decades ago, my sister was chasing her foster daughter (who they had since birth and later adopted) around the back yard to get her to return home. My sister (she was easily frustrated), yelled, "If you don't come home, I'll kill you!" CPS was called. My sister got the bright idea of making a few anonymous phone calls to CPS "informing" the same charge on a few other area mothers. In a few days, CPS called her to say her case was dropped as it was obvious to them some trouble-maker was making trouble. She was so proud of herself for her bright idea.
 
I think it's heinous, especially since the parent will have no idea (or not know for sure) who lodged the complaint. Once an ex-boyfriend who was a mild mannered Jamaican, had a child services worker (DYFS) show up at his house. Apparently his son, a teenager, who hadn't long gotten here from Jamaica wasn't used to being disciplined and called them. My then boyfriend, told that DYFS worker exactly what he would do to him if he ever set foot on his doorstep again. Problem solved...guy never came back. I had to laugh because knowing him, he probably never even raised his voice.
