“Let me tell you about the very rich. They are different from you and me. They possess and enjoy early, and it does something to them, makes them soft where we are hard, and cynical where we are trustful, in a way that, unless you were born rich, it is very difficult to understand. They think, deep in their hearts, that they are better than we are because we had to discover the compensations and refuges of life for ourselves. Even when they enter deep into our world or sink below us, they still think that they are better than we
are. They are different. ”
F. Scott Fitzgerald

I agree, but Fitzgerald was no angel himself, he was actually one of the very rich and morally corrupt that he was describing.

IMO the painting of Clinton was a not so subtle reminder to Epstein's guests and to Bill Clinton of the power that Epstein held over them.

It would be interesting to unravel the possible blackmail/extortion/abuse of power that Epstein was able to enjoy as a result of his connections with these high profile people.

I doubt that we will ever know the full extent of what went on.
You are right! My father always said, "If you don't want it to be found out, don't do it''. I don't feel sorry for Epstein and all his fellow perps.

ie The rich are different...

Absolutely, not only can they get what want on a whim they wind up in different circles with different peers of a similar wealth which helps cloud their reality living in an echo chamber of sorts. Also in order to stay rich must network or lobby for various people, strategies, legislation etc. It's not just about their fetishes and desires when they meet up it's also business.

Also those Woody Allen pictures. It was troubling long ago and even more troubling now looking at high definition/quality pictures. Setting aside the age difference they way he has his hand around his arm shows me he's treating her like a possession to be protected. Creepy

@Sunny = Ryan-Kleid was very talented, her portraits are very realistic. Such a shame that she gave up painting. On the other hand, maybe she's making more money in her current career than she would have as a struggling and starving artist?

{{After graduating from the New York Academy of Art, Petrina Ryan-Kleid worked as a studio assistant for Jeff Koons in 2015 and 2016 and now does social media marketing for artists in New York. }}

Nobody's bashing Clinton per se. His name just comes up in part of the whole Epstein story that we are discussing.
I agree.

You know, I don't exactly like Hillary Clinton, but I've always admired her for being very intelligent and very ambitious. I was disappointed when she stuck with Bill after the Lewinsky fiasco and didn't divorce him, but I understood her motives. When young and still in law school she fell in love with this fellow student. But, when she found out he had no political ambition she dumped him and then met Bill. She knew from the beginning that he was a womanizer, but his political ambition was the beacon she could not abandon. I'm just curious why she's not leaving him now since I doubt she'll try again for the presidency. But, maybe she wants to wait for him to die first so she can get HIS half, like a lot of women do. It would be the ultimate revenge for his adulteries. I love money, but not THAT much to stay in a miserable marriage lacking in respect for your spouse.

What if she dies first?... if your supposition is right, then she will have wasted her own life waiting for him to die first... 😯
Yes, she could die first, but women usually outlive men, especially an alcoholic like Bill. I've known a few women who would rather stay in a miserable marriage than divorce and lose HIS half to his next wife. I'd rather be free and happy and make my own fortune.

OK, maybe I'm being dense about this, but does that painting mean that Bill Clinton actually posed for a portrait in those clothes? It looks to me like it's a kind of kinky joke, and anyone could have used a picture of his face and added the rest. It's not a photograph, is it? And even if it is, we all know they can be doctored and faked too.

So what does the fact that Epstein had it hanging in his home say about Clinton? I just don't get the point of where this thread is going. Much less these conjectures about why Hillary remains married to him (which is something nobody could know but those two), and all the other wild speculations going on here.

Could somebody please enlighten me?

The artist painted the Clinton and Bush paintings for her art class. Clinton's had to do with the Lewinsky affair, Bush's had to do with his using the 9/11 attack as an excuse to invade Iraq. The paintings were symbolic. It is written about in your link in post #87

The conjectures about Hillary staying with Bill is mine. I can't figure out why an intelligent woman would stay with the likes of men like Bill. They no longer have the excuse of women long ago that had to stay married in order to survive. Perhaps she still loves him, perhaps she's staying for the sake of inheriting it all. I don't know about their private lives or their agendas, I was just doing a ''character analysis''. I've met women who stayed in spite of being miserable in the marriage, and most of the time it had to do with money. Even wealthy people are greedy for more money.

YAY!!!!! I asked Matrix, he didn't like doing it, said it can create chaos. I'll do my best not to make him sorry he did it. Now I need to change my pic to suit the name. Hey, Keesha, I may be a cat lady but I'm not crazy. 😻 😹😺

That's Amber, my oldest at almost 12, when she was a kitten.
