Today was hot by us, low 90s and sunny for our walk in the park with the dog. I was hoping for rain because things were really dry, and people already started shooting off their fireworks last night. Many fires are caused by fireworks, and they are not allowed in some areas, but people usually take their chances and blow them off. Just around ten minutes ago it started raining pretty nicely, still coming down, and the temp on my thermometer is 60 F degrees! ;) :rain: Very thankful for the little things. :sentimental:

How's the weather by you??

@ 5PM here, it's 80º a few clouds in the distance but clear here locally. It'll cool off later for good sleeping.

Probably won't get dark for fireworks until about 9 PM. Past my usual bedtime but I'm gonna stay up to watch. (They're from several different directions.)

What the hey! Once a year ain't gonna kill me.

Today was nice for a change. High 80's with low humidity. Prior to today its been in the mid 90's with high humidity. Too hot to do much of anything outside. I'm ready for September.

We have been having a decent amount of rain and temperature in the lower 90s, usually by this time we are in the 100s, maybe we will get a break this year on the drought and the heat.

Same down here by the Gulf Coast. It rains everyday now, and it's staying very green this summer without the sprinklers running. It's a nice change.

Its not the temps, its the frigging humidity. Melbourne,Florida

I walked outside last night to watch the neighborhood fireworks,by the time I put the beach chair on the front lawn...
I said "oh duck this!!!" and went back in and turned the A/C up higher. Talk about sauna out there...GEEEEZ

For once, amazing for July in the Washington, DC area, the weather is perfect! Sunny, in the 70's, best of all, low humidity! I love it!

I like that kind of weather too Sunny, wish it would stay in the 70s for the whole summer. Today was hot and sunny, 100 F degrees. :sunshine: This evening it's cooling down, and we've had some rain/hail. Tomorrow is supposed to be cooler, will take the dog for a walk in the park. I won't take him when it's too hot, he's old and not in good health. I always carry water for him, and sometimes a spray bottle too to spritz him now and then.

Sounds like perfect weather Hollydolly! Bonnie. nice that you're getting afternoon rains, Texas has been in a drought for such a long time. I couldn't live in a place like Texas, Arizona or Florida, don't like that heat. Right now by me it's slightly overcast, and around 70 degrees. Looks like we had a little rain throughout the night.

On Saturday we had severe wind and rain from tropical storm Arthur.
Trees and branches were down and thousands without power.
Our power came back Sunday evening but many have been told it will be two or three more
days before power is restored in some areas.

Today it is fine and sunny and very warm. The weather certainly can change quickly.

Too hot! At least 100 every day for a while now. I just came down to my daughter's house to swim (they are away) Going to have to fight Autumn the Lab for the pool though lol!

Love that photo Mirabilis!! :coolpics: Mrs. Robinson, 100 degrees for more than a day is super hot! Autumn is a smart cookie, lol! :D

Bad storms all over the area last night. Our power was out over 5 hours. South of us, 4 people lost their lives when a tornado touched down in Smithfield, NY. Most of us, in the campgrounds, met in the rec. room to ride out the storm. No bad damage in campgrounds. Just the usual furniture and flags blowing around.

Thunderstorms all round here last night; but not here at all, and not a drop of rain either.
it may have been the wettest winter on record, but I am waiting for the hosepipe ban......

Not everyone's cup of tea .. :) .. lived in Phoenix for 6 years prior ... I really loved the desert life when I was there.

We're being blessed with a few cooler and partly rainy days here, so now it's only around 65 degrees and raining on and off for a couple of hours now. Feels good and the grass and trees love it too, not very fond of hot weather, even in the summer, lol.

Still 100 degrees-been pretty steady all summer. Usually we at least have an occasional cooler day or even week, but not this year. But we didn`t have any stretches of 120 degrees like we did a few years ago either so that`s been good...
