Here's a subject I know absolutely nothing about. I've gotten interested after reading a review in today's paper of a new video game called Superliminal, which deals with optical illusions and perspective. The game sounds fascinating, but I realized that I really don't know anything about video games, starting with what equipment you need to play them.

I know there are game consoles and other gadgets you can buy, and some games can be played on your TV or computer. But how do you know which are which? For the games that can be played on the TV, is any other special equipment needed, such as a special remote?

I feel like a time traveler from the past, suddenly thrown into a futuristic world that I know nothing about! Can anybody provide some kindergarten-level input?

@Sunny I play Slot Machine games and Gin Rummy on my 10 inch touch screen tablet..Helps pass time while the others sleep..

I found that I can download Superliminal. The price they gave is about $20. Does that mean no special equipment is needed? I have downloaded other games, such as Scrabble and Zuma, but I don't know if they are actually called video games. They work fine on my computer, just using the mouse etc.

They are a form of video game. Most of the games can be played just using the mouse or various keys on the keyboard.

Just make sure when you download that you are downloading the version for a PC.
