When cutting a hot dog bun do you cut the top or the side?

That's because he only moved here.
Who really cares how anyone cuts a hotdog bun? C'mon.
It's a question of protocol and design. You drink wine out of a wine glass instead of a coffee cup. It tastes better as does a bun cut the way it was meant to be cut. I'm coming.. Where are you? A bun cut on the side holds more ingredients such as the weiner and the onions and the coney sauce. Let's ask Ann Landers.

When I lived in Adelaide, it wasn't unusual to see a bbq set up in the parking lot with "hot dogs" cooking. I think they were sausages (snags), not weiners. There was always a loaf of white bread - no hot dog buns, to wrap them in. Also, no mustard or relish. Just sauce (ketchup).
Tailgate parties before football games here.
Always sausages . Condiments optional .Loaf bread works but not for juicy stuff.

I believe you mean "poppy seed buns." Born and raised in Chicago, drove a cab for four years, stopped at scores of hot dog stands. Never heard of a pepper seed bun.

Willie's Wee Nee Wagon was on Crawford, just south of 159th. Some ex drug guy bought it and changed the name, I believe.

You seem to like coming on as a local of this or that city, but you usually seem to fall a bit short in actual native knowledge of a given locale. Where did you actually grow up? What cities have you actually lived in?
Wee Willies parked on 127th St. east of Kedzie when I went. My "actual native knowledge" as you put it is just fine.
