I look good no matter what I wear or nothing at all - it's all a state of mind.I'm envious of anyone who can wear a hat and look good...
I wear baseball hats in white or pink sometimes when I'm at the beach especially if it's windy because they stay on better.... ☀I have a few hats...I only wear them at the Shore....I love baseball hats...They make them for ladies....Pink, green, blue and yellow....At the Shore
it's get windy, so I put on the caps or hats so hair doesn't get all over my face....

What's a NYC cab driver's hat?I wear a Fedora on occasion...like Dan Draper in Mad Men. Otherwise a baseball hat or NYC cab driver's hat.
I wonder if this is the NYC cab driver's hat? What's a NYC cab driver's hat?
Hopefully @Old&InTheWay will answer the question.Only saw a hat like that in 1940's musicals.
My father always wore hats, but I thought it was because he was bald. Men, and women, were more dressed up back then, now they all look like slobs, including me. I kind of like it better this way, though. There was a time decades ago when a man had to be wearing a hat to be considered fully dressed when going out; watch old movies or newsreels of men in crowds, and you'll see a sea of hats...even boys wore caps of the "newsboy" variety. I remember my father going to work while wearing a hat every day, switching to a straw or other lightweight hat in the hot weather. It was a classier age...

I hadn't thought about hat boxes in years. Some of the boxes were just as pretty as the hats themselves. Thanks for such a delightful memoryThis thread got me thinking of my mother's beautiful hat boxes I used to love playing with.

I can remember when I was a kid, my parents dressed nice just to go out in public at all. You definitely wouldn't see people running around in public in their PJs. When I was still teaching, students used to come to my 8:00 a.m. classes in their PJs all the time (or at least the ones who actually showed up at all). There was a time decades ago when a man had to be wearing a hat to be considered fully dressed when going out; watch old movies or newsreels of men in crowds, and you'll see a sea of hats...even boys wore caps of the "newsboy" variety.
