Any hat lovers on here?

I wear a red ball cap that is a souvenir from Mexico when I have the top down on the car.

I have a blue ball cap with the name of the ship I served on in the U S Navy. I wear that to veterans events.

There is a sombrero in the closet somewhere that I bought down in the Yucatan.

I'm envious of anyone who can wear a hat and look good. My mother, when I was younger, always wore hats, and they really suited her. Those were the days when little girls also wore hats and gloves for special occasions. I have a small head, and thick hair .. don't know if that's why knitted hats don't want to stay on my head, but then, the thick hair keeps my head from getting cold :)

Both my husband and I wear hats when we go to the beach or when we take walks...mostly to keep the blazing sun off of our balding heads!!!

I have a few hats...I only wear them at the Shore....I love baseball hats...They make them for ladies....Pink, green, blue and yellow....At the Shore
it's get windy, so I put on the caps or hats so hair doesn't get all over my face....
I wear baseball hats in white or pink sometimes when I'm at the beach especially if it's windy because they stay on better.... ☀

I wear a black hat that ''looks'' like straw but is soft (?). I wear it mainly because my hair is fly-away and my eyes are sensitive to light. The brim of the hat and my dark sunglasses solves the problem of the sensitivity. Never wore hats until the last few years.

I posted a hat thread on here last year. I like hats a lot. I always forget to wear them in the summer for some reason, though, maybe because it gets so darn hot here. I bought a couple of new ones for the winter. Here is one of them:

Here's the other one:

There was a time decades ago when a man had to be wearing a hat to be considered fully dressed when going out; watch old movies or newsreels of men in crowds, and you'll see a sea of hats...even boys wore caps of the "newsboy" variety. I remember my father going to work while wearing a hat every day, switching to a straw or other lightweight hat in the hot weather. It was a classier age...

My father always wore hats, but I thought it was because he was bald. Men, and women, were more dressed up back then, now they all look like slobs, including me. I kind of like it better this way, though.

I can remember when I was a kid, my parents dressed nice just to go out in public at all. You definitely wouldn't see people running around in public in their PJs. When I was still teaching, students used to come to my 8:00 a.m. classes in their PJs all the time (or at least the ones who actually showed up at all).
