Half of U.K. adults take their mobiles to the toilet with them, and one in six take a tablet along while 4% use games consuls according to a poll of more than 2,000 people

Many of those polled had dropped mobiles in the loo or sink !

So, come on, own up, do you take yours ? I have to confess, if I’m expecting a call or e mail and I need the bathroom there’s a chance I might......well, when you gotta go, you gotta go

Well, I stopped being a ''dinosaur''and bought my first cell phone on Friday. My main reason for getting one is to carry with me in case I fall and need to call for help. But, it's a pain to have to hand carry it, so I went to Amazon and bought this. And yes, I will carry it all over, including the toilet. The bathroom is where most of the falls happen for seniors, anyway. This can even be used to do errands when you don't want to carry a big purse. It has 82% good reviews.

I don't take my cell phone in the bathroom with me and I have the sound cut off. I only turn it on when expecting a call and there is only one person I talk to on it. If she should call and I'm not here or in the bathroom she can use the voicemail. Otherwise I get most calls on my landline. Yes, I still have one.

I don't take my phone to the bathroom for thoughts of missing a phone call, but I do sometimes take it for 'entertainment' purposes. ... a good time to look up something on the Internet, weather forecast for walking, etc. ....
(like it's important to not waste time when you're retired, and have all the time in the world) :ROFLMAO:

ha ha ha ha one step up from taking a book or newspaper 😆

I take my cell phone pretty much wherever I go, except for the shower. Phones are not waterproof, at least, I don't think they are. For the shower, I use a First Alert alarm system, just in case I fall.

No I don't.... unless I'm in a public loo and it's in my bag or my pocket... ( I also still have a landline as well as my iphone so they can leave a message on either one...)

Good idea about taking it into the shower tho' @RadishRose .

Also @Catlady that's a super idea about that little bag so you can keep your hands free if you need to have the phone with you at all times.

When I was working it was with me every minute and had to be answered within three rings, work requirement.

Now it's only with me when I'm out of the house and it rarely if ever rings.

If you don't mind my asking, you don't have to answer, how much do you pay monthly?

I live alone and thought of getting one, but if nothing ever happens it will be wasted money (which I don't have much to waste). That's the main reason I got the cell phone and want to carry it everywhere with me, just in case I fall and can call 911 for help. It's also handy for texting since I am deaf and it's also a backup in case my desktop dies or has problems.

I cannot understand this fascination with cell phones. We keep a basic Tracfone active, and only use it when away from the house, in case we have a problem while driving, or need to touch base with the kids, etc. I certainly can't visualize being so wrapped up on a phone that I can't even go to the bathroom without having it in my hand. On average we probably don't use it for more than 15 minutes a month....those who feel "naked" without having their phone in their face are overlooking a lot of more important things in life....IMO.

I confess to taking my iPad in the toilet.
As for my £9 mobile phone if anyone ever rings me on it i look at it trying to decide what the hell i should be pressing in order to answer it!! Missed call? I cut younoff....Oops!

I don't get calls. I tell people to text me and I will call them back. No missed calls!
I don't answer calls because I'm deaf and can't hear/understand. Now that I finally recently got a cell and can get texts, businesses/doctors will not text because ''they're not set-up for it". It's frustrating! I guess if they want to reach me or get my business they will have to write to me the old way. 😖
