What Are Your Thoughts on the Supernatural and Magic?

I view supernatural and miracles as science we just don’t understand yet and most likely never will before we become extinct

Magic could be viewed the same but I prefer to consider it more mysterious.

Perhaps it’s good planning merging with luck.

I don't believe in magic, and as far as the supernatural, like ghosts, spirits, etc., seeing is believing and so far in my 60 some odd years I haven't witnessed anything to confirm the supernatural although I always had and still have an open mind. I've had very close loved ones die, and I consciously welcomed their coming to me in a visit or giving a sign of their continued existence....unfortunately, I have never had an experience. Of course I do have dreams of those who passed, but will not read too much into them because I've always dreamed of my loved ones, two and four legged.

Things involving the supernatural scare me and I don't even like to ponder the subject--I don't know why it scares me but it does. Actually not everything involving it scares me, like I do speak to my departed family at times, they don't answer but a part of me hopes they hear me and maybe still care.

The things that are supernatural that scare me are things like black magic and voodoo and especially when I hear of bad things done by it. I conjure up specific images that are quite scary. I think I may have seen these things on tv or in movies.

As for magic, I do like to watch the entertainment of magicians and find it fun.

Mirrors can freak me out during a full moon. Maybe I'm too sensitive - Not.

I've had many experiences with the supernatural since childhood. I prefer not to elaborate on a public forum. The supernatural is very real. I don't seek contact with it, but I'm not afraid of it. It is important to have a partner who believes in you, even though he may not experience the same things that you do.

I don't know if magic is real or not. With stage magicians, I can usually figure out how it is done, so I really don't like the deceptive nature of it all. I have a brother who worked backstage in an arena. When the magicians came, he had to sign non disclosure agreements, because he and his co workers saw things from a different angle than the audience saw. Some of the television magic shows are completely fake. Camera tricks, special effects editing, and green screens, complete with actors following a script, while pretending to be bystanders.

There are some people who believe that some top magicians use a combination of sophisticated tricks and demonic helpers. I haven't seen enough evidence to support this theory.

I'm psychic and have been since childhood. I noticed my gift got much stronger in 1968 after I had my son. He says my brain is "weird" and promptly tell him it's his fault. LOL I've always felt the need to tell my premonitions (some frightening) which often came in dreams and some via "knowings" to someone or some people. And when the events happened, the comments would always be that they remembered when I told them about it. The most frightening "knowing" was that someone I loved dearly, a male, was going to die. For three months, I was so frightened about the impending event. I went out partying one night with my then BFF and told her about it. She thought I was crazy. The next day my beloved cousin who was like a brother to me, drowned. And at his wake, where I was crying so hard, suddenly it was like these giant arms encircled me and calmed me immediately. When I turned around to see who it was, there was no one behind me. I have too many other examples to get into at this time.

I found out that I can also do psychometry when I attended an 8 week paranormal course at an adult night school. I didn't even know psychometry existed until we did the practice exercise in class. I got several points correct about the woman I was paired with, whom I didn't know. Holding the subjects' objects in my hand, I see words and visions (like moving pictures), some represent the past, either recent or awhile back and some the future. Had much success with doing my co-workers telling them things I could not have known and even they didn't know (yet). https://www.liveabout.com/need-to-know-info-about-psychometry-2593072

I never thought I'd see a ghost although I'd talked to people who had seen them. One was my ex-boyfriend, a Jamaican who formerly ridiculed those who believed in duppies (ghosts), until he saw one sitting on his toddler daughter's bed one night. We had remained friends and he called me in a panic asking what to do. I saw one myself one evening while primping in the mirror. Suddenly there was this man with a blue, black and white plaid shirt, mixed gray hair, either a tanned White man or light skinned Black man...there looking at me. I didn't turn around but observed him in the mirror for about a minute. Then he seemingly just floated sideways into our studio (right across from where he "stood"). I never saw him again. I surprised myself because I was not frightened.

One of my BFFs said her young son used to tell her he was afraid to go into the basement because there was a ghost there. She shrugged it off. By the time her son became a tween, she saw him herself....a man in a top hat. So they nicknamed him Top Hat. One day we were on the phone and she suddenly said "Oh sh*t!" When I asked her what happened, she said she saw Top Hat going through her front door. She and her son were not the only ones who saw this ghost. A friend of hers who was helping her clean out the basement (and had not been told about the ghost) told her he saw a man in a top hat in her basement. I have other friends who have recounted their ghostly encounters. They are all very intelligent, no nonsense people not prone to lies. I know it's hard for people who haven't had paranormal experiences to understand and believe in them. But I've lived them so long that they are normal to me..not paranormal.

I think we are definitely not alone. Magic is a way to fool someone in to thinking something amazing has happened - we just don't understand how. Supernatural is something we don't understand and some are able to see and others aren't able to. On that note, yes I have experienced stuff that I can't explain but I have accepted it and just try to take this in the flow of things.

The type of magic musicians have comes from a great love of music and many, many years of practice. Not only learning how to play an instrument like a guitar. But also learning music theory, scales, training your ear to listen and be able to play back music you just heard.

Back in the day when I had some free time I was always working on my music. I got much enjoyment from learning or doing something new. And once I had it, I kept it in my pocket and moved on. I loved doing that..

Shameless self promotion... I stopped gigging in 2010 and set up a little recording studio were we get together on Saturdays and howl at the moon. Below is a link to the last song we posted about a year ago. Our songs are homemade and they sound like that. I just wanted to backup what I said above. All the guitar work in this song is done by me.. :)

The website is SoundCloud and our band's name is Partly Banded. If you do drop in and listen I hope you like it and thank you, Davey.

Hey @HazyDavey , I visited you maybe a year ago, as LunaMoon. I'm happy to know you guys are still at it!

And an incredible amount of creativity & practice.
Only those who are not known and make little money. Rappers make millions. Symphony players hardly make a living. Rock stars make millions. There are so many truly talented people who are not recognized, or play in little clubs or community band/orchestras.
I recall, decades ago, that Eric Clapton was doing an interview with a reporter about his talent and stardom. Clapton made a comment (I don't recall exact quote) to the effect that he could walk by any number of clubs in Soho and find musicians that had far more talent than he had. He had more luck.
(I know, totally off subject from OP).

To answer, supernatural is all super nonsense to me.

Magic to me is very interesting, sometimes fairly scary, but interesting. Have the movie, Now You See Me, and it can be kind of freaky to watch, just like the second one was.

Ditto for moi, Diva...so many things I've experienced personally, so many things we don't yet understand, but I truly believe if we "love" and simply keep an open mind, line upon line and precept upon precept, we can rise to the natural ability to break through to the higher, finer consciousness. Its wonderful, as it provides the "eternity" dimension to our daily lives. Its as though we are able to transcend and understand life on a higher, more expansive level. Music sometimes facilitates this, I think, too. Its like music has the ability to move from the finite into the infinite energy life levels.

You have two different things, magic and the supernatural. Magic , today, is tricks, and devices for entertainment. The other is the supernatural, which is non-physical occurrences. I have to agree with JimBob1952. It has been thousands of years learning about the universe, and no one has any kind of proof the supernatural exists.
