Tattoo For You?

And ... I should add that on occasion, I do like to wear makeup. I just try to use organic (or natural, whatever that means).

I never wanted a Tattoo... Hubby also.... My granddaughter has a couple of tattoo's....She is a Nurse....You don't see most of them....
I remember when my Uncle came home from the war and showed me his tattoo....He said P, this is what I got out of the War.....
God spared me!!! I will never forget him....He died at 60 years old.....I still cry thinking of him....

Mine, from when I was in the Navy is now 61 years old. It is a little fuzzy around the edges. It is small and discrete, doesn't show when I wear a t-shirt, which is most days.
The "wallpaper" tattoos are reputed to be popular with Japanese gangsters.
I wonder when WalMart is going to have tattoo parlors in their big box stores. They already have the clientele.

To each their own when it comes to body tattoos. I don't like tats never did. Peer pressure worked for 77 of the 78 recruits in the Navy Great Lakes recruit training company I was in. I was the only recruit in my company that wouldn't get one.

Good for you, you have my respect for respecting yourself and your beliefs. I once worked in an office and when we had lunch I was the only one who didn't smoke. I felt like the odd duck, but refused the impulse to ''join the crowd" to fit in.

Tattoo For You?

Considered one when I was around 15

Don't know

Still considering

Maybe TG can recommend one for me
Ah, Gary, you're a man of many talents. I can see, in my mind's eye, a great piece that works in your unique bird houses, your place in the woods, your tap room characters, that chipmunk, and some other things relevant to the very interesting character you are.

A large piece, on your upper arm, would fit the bill, I believe.

I'd really like to be the tattooist to put it on you, but I hung up my irons, years ago.

I actually know a tattooist in Salem, Oregon, Dave Lum, who is world class in the profession. He gave me my first tattoo, in his Austin shop, when he lived here. He retired, about six years ago. I'm not sure if he draws up his outrageous designs, now, for other artists. Here's a page with some of his work:

Never. I really dislike tatts. Just not for me, but I don't like them on others either because there's overkill with the tatt thing these days. It no longer means you're original or special. It just signifies you have no mind of your own and follow the crowd.

That sends more of a message. Individual freedom. I was the only one in my class who wouldn't get a brush cut.

None for me. I would never want to go through the process of getting one. I don't care if others get them or not but I do not find them attractive at all. I am glad my son never got one. My bf had his ex-wife's name tattooed on his arm back when he was in the service.

That puts me in mind of an old MAD Magazine cartoon- one young adult was saying to another: "I want to be different- just like everybody else!" :p

Yep that was a classic. Of course, whether you get a tat or don't get one, you are part of a very large group, and either way, you are just like everybody else. Except for me. I am a true rebel.

As tattoos seem to be getting more & more popular with the younger generation (& some old timers too), are going to get on the band wagon too? Not me! I was never very much for following the crowd. Actually, I don't like them at all. What about you? Some people have told me that when these people hit their senior years (if they live that long) they will really look ugly. There will come a time in their lives when they will no longer look cool or trendy & simply become ugly. Maybe I'm wrong but then maybe I'm not. Haven't seen any 80s plus loaded with tattoos from head to toe but I guess it's coming.
No. It's bad enough I got my ears pierced. I left the studs out for a week & the holes grew shut. I can't imagine doing that to my body. I've seen some pretty horrific videos of some pretty serious infections from tats as well. Plus it's against my religious beliefs to have one. I should never have pierced my ears either but that was back when I was young & stupid.

I used to kinda want a small heart on my ankle but I'm a big wuss at the idea of them scraping skin off me.
