When Was The Last Time You Sat Down And Listened To A Radio Program?

Years ago there was a late night radio program dealing with the paranormal and UFO's and the like. I listened to it when I suffered from the inability to sleep normal hours. I listened to hear some of the beliefs people hold and how certain they are that something is out there. I enjoyed it and it opened my eyes to learn what some folks truly believe in. You can find old radio shows on youtube and other sites.

A long, long time!

I used to enjoy listening to NPR programs like Click and Clack the Tappet Brothers, Alistair Cooke's Letter from America or Kim Williams on All Things Considered.
We frequently listen to NPR on a small radio in the kitchen. It is easier on our nerves than much of what you see on TV.
Our clock radio is tuned to NPR and is a pretty good wakeup. …. assuming the dogs have not already rousted us out of bed.
The Click and Clack show was wonderful, and All Things Considered is another favorite of ours.
Aunt Bea, you just seem to have good taste in a wide variety of areas.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 7am-11:30am on Sirius 100 I listen, and love to listen, to Howard Stern. I laugh, laugh, and laugh some more, hear great interviews that go on for over an hour, hear Howard's views on the state of the world.

I also listen to Joel Osteen on Sirius 128. How's that for eclectic?

Haven't listened to Sirius' old radio programmes in quite awhile, although I used to; as well as books read on their book station.

Plus, music! politics! sports! medicine! Everything I would want to hear is on Sirius.

I used to enjoy listening to the Prairie Home Companion and the news from Lake Woebegone on NPR.

My radio is on all night while I am in bed. Depending on the hour I get to hear bits and pieces from the BBC, NPR, the Moth and other very interesting programs. To go to sleep I sometimes have to switch over to classical music because the shows are so interesting I just have to keep listening.

In daylight hours I listen to parliament when in session.

I have always loved radios beginning with the crystal (cats whisker) one I build when I was about ten. I used old transformer wire wrapped around an empty toilet paper roll for a tuning coil, I did buy a tuning capacitor and a cheap headset. The station that came in the strongest was XELO out of Northern Mexico where they had no restrictions of transmission power. I listened to a lot of Mexican Music.
All my experiments with home made radios and antennas paid off as it lead me into a good career in electronics.
A couple of years later when I was in my early teens, I build a radio using vacuum tubes and purchased parts. After I had real training in the Navy, I opened it up one day when I was home on leave. My soldering work was terrible, but it did work reasonable well.
I still have a HF Long Range Radio and a reasonable good long wire antenna. I fire it off every once in awhile and listen to English broadcasts coming out of Europe. Their interpretation of the news can be drastically different than ours. Radio Moscow is, well it is Moscow so you know what to expect.

I listen to NPR as I prepare to face the day. In the evening especially when too tired to read or watch TV, I enjoy podcasts. I also enjoy listening to old time radio programs in bed that are available through my "smart speaker."

Are you talking about Coast to Coast with George Noory? https://www.coasttocoastam.com/
I don't listen to the radio...too much jibber jabber. And even when they are playing music, too often it's not something I'm in the mood to hear. I have wound up listening to the radio sometimes when our senior transport drivers have their radios on. Funny...one of the younger drivers, early 30's tops, listens to Frank Sinatra and old classics.

Yes. Thanks for that. The host was Art Bell. He passed away a few years back.

Yes, George Noory started out guest hosting then took over for Art Bell. We used to talk about the show sometimes when I was in a Paranormal group on another forum. One of it's members was an avid Coast to Coast listener.
