What type of purse/handbag do you use?

For years now I've used a large, roomy purse with lots of pockets, because between it and my vehicle, it acts as my mobile office. I don't have a cubicle, office, or location in which I do my work each day, so it's necessary for me to have with me all the things that one would normally have in their place of work.

Apart from the typical things that most women carry with them....wallet, tissues, makeup, etc., I also carry with me my phone, a mobile charging brick and appropriate cords, my AirPods and case, hand sanitizer and lotion, chapstick, bandaids, nail clippers and emery board, multi tool, tylenol, tissues, toothbrush, tape measure, all manner of pens, highlighters, markers, a couple flash drives, extra glasses and computer glasses....I could go on but you get the idea. In my trunk I also have a tote bag with other stuff....packing tape, folders, labels, other office type supplies, a label maker etc.

I'd love to carry a smaller, lighter purse, but I've learned the hard way how frustrating it is to not have that stuff with me when I need it. And because I'm an organized person, I like my purse to have compartments for different things. I also keep several small zippered containers in my bag to store some of the stuff together...the personal items like clippers and bandaids and the like.

My current purse, a MultiSak, is getting kinda beat up and it's time for a new one. The trend these days is for backpack type purses and they just don't work for me. It's getting harder and harder to find the kind of purse I need with enough compartments to satisfy the level of organization I want.

What about you? What do you use?

I always use a shoulder bag. I have 4; black, off white, deep tan leather and a black and red embroidered cloth bag. I certainly don't need anymore than that. Oh wait- I have a black leather clutch.

Inside would be my wallet, sunglasses, keys, comb, lipstick, hand sanitizer, little jack knife and usually my phone.

For every day use I like a fairly big, soft leather shoulder bag, black or brown, in summer same size but straw, hessian or denim, carrying the everyday ladies items

For evenings I use a smaller bag, usually a clutch depending on my outfit, I fell in love with
this little shoulder bag and never used it !

The one I'm using now is tan colored with dark brown trim. It has a zipper on top which is something I always want so no one can slip their hand in and grab something;) It has a few compartments inside which I look for too. It is larger than many purses but not huge. I can put it on my shoulder to keep it safe, too. I also like that it has a smaller zipper compartment on the outside of the bag on the back and two smaller zippered compartments on the front for small stuff.

i use a denim shoulder bag with zippered compartments---check book -wallet- phone -tissues-xtra car keys-and 2 little good luck pieces from the bubble gum machine that 2 of my grand children gave me when they were small

I've always used shoulder bags with compartments. The one I've been using since summer, is a smaller bag with extendable strap, so I wear it as a cross-body bag. It's not as heavy as my other leather bags. I think I'll stick with it until I can find another that size. Of course, I can't fill it with as much, and had to switch to a smaller wallet. Since I'm not working, I don't have to carry as much "stuff".

Whenever I hear the word, "purse", I think of my ex. She was always shopping for the right one. I mean ALWAYS. It had to be big, but not big. It had to have pockets, but it couldn't look like it had pockets. It had to have room for the necessities, like a road map of Albania- Well if you needed one would you have one? See. You also needed this tiny set of "tools". The screw driver was 2 inches long. Of course, the purse you just bought won't do. It was way too brown, she wanted "brown". We once spent the enitre day shopping for a purse, went to over 10 stores, saw hundreds of purses, but there was "nothing" to buy. Her "old " purse was less than a week old, it was "no good."

Hi Im a guy but still have the need for a "man" bag, ie somewhere to keep my daily use stuff, ie wallets, passes, credit and debit cards dark glasses etc so Ive recently bought a cross shoulder bag that does the job, only Im not going out so much as we have a virus going on here and being over 60 are not advised to go out so much as usual, so here I am indoors mostly, chatting on here which is a blessing to me.

When we visited Tangier, Morocco my wife bought a leather bag that had pockets around the outside. She liked it so much that she eventually wore it out. I suggested that she rip out the seams and use the panels as patterns to make a new one of fabric. She did ,and has been making and using them ever since. The trip to Morocco was in 1989.

I just switched from an Italian leather large shoulder purse to a tiny vinyl cross body bag due to Covid-19. It's just big enough for my ID and cards, a travel size can of Lysol and purse sized tissues. I clip my keys and tiny hand sanitizer hangie thing to the strap using a small carabiner. Everything gets sprayed down with a standard size Lysol once back in the car .

I have many...My daughter always gives me Beautiful Bags for Christmas....Right now I'm still using my tan bag with Zippers, it holds alot of
stuff...I only took 1 bag with me....
My daughter insists on giving me designer bags, but I find the faux-leather bags just as attractive and sturdy .. lighter and a lot less expensive. I've still got a zippered straw bag, made in Italy, that I purchased in Australia over a decade ago, which I use every summer. It's lightweight, yet sturdy, and a medium size.

I have a brown shoulder/ cross body zipped purse I bought at Kohls about 6yrs ago
The only items I put in the main pocket are my wallet, keys, pocket calendar, with pen,$ store glasses, cell phone, gum.In one of the small zipped pockets are bus schedules, the ones I usually take, sun glasses. The other zipped pocket has scrap paper, small bag of mints

I went a different way. I carried a not-so-cheap but rather too small leather Coach bag for years which I had to keep cleaning, but then moved to an often-rainy/snowing area. I opted to use a "Joy & IMAN 22-Section Luxe Genuine Leather Handbag" which I purchased from HSN in 2014. The leather has held up well (I'd say it looks the same as when new), has a ton of pockets, and carries more than I need. Need room for booklets, makeup bag, credit card bag with RFID chip, hand-held fan, sunglasses holder, etc.? No problem.

I have loads of Bags, I'm a big of a handbag hoarder ...from several small leather shoulder bags in different colours which will just hold a phone, a credit card and a lipstick....to the bags I use the most often with as man pockets in as possible, because I carry a lot around.. I have beautiful soft leather, a couple of designer, some leather looka likeys (which get more comments than the designer bags) .. and I have so many colours too , patterned and plain.

I have 2 leather smallish rucksack bags one which has never been used , but I just can't get on with them because everything settles at the bottom of the bag and because I have lower back problems, I find as I walk along wearing the rucksack style the heavy filled base knocks against my lower spine, so they're painful.
