Friday the 13th is a lucky day for me as well. I joined the Navy on a Friday the 13th and liked it well enough to stick around for over 31 years. I was only 17 at the time.
I have a black and white cat, and that counts a little.
 
I am not superstitious. Have walked under ladders all my life & I'm still around. If you are superstitious then you would probably live very well in the Dark Ages of Europe when they burned witches. Great stuff for silly Hollywood movies but not very real.
 
Friday the 13th is fine with me ---
dont walk under ladders..
unlucky to bring dandelions into your house ...

plants can be unlucky as folklore goes ---such as hawthorns-lore-buxus box -white lillies ))))))))
 
When I was a little girl my mother is gossiping on the street and I am walking under a ladder. She had always told me never to do that. Suddenly, she screams my name and grabs me. A worker was hanging a sign and dropped one of the letters. It would have fallen on little me. So, I'm not superstitious about this, just careful, and don't do it.

Re: Friday the 13th. For me, the bad luck comes from all those who believe in bad luck and go out of their way to prevent bad luck, sometimes causing bad luck to those they encounter. When I was pregnant a driver who freaked out over it being Friday the 13th was rushing to check himself into a mental hospital, thus causing him to crash into our car. No one hurt, but I learned to be extremely cautious of others, moreso than usual, on this date.

Some folks are suspicious about those things. 🤷‍♀️ I'm not, but some are. The full moon for example has been associated with strange or insane behavior, including suicide, sleepwalking and violence. The lunar theory, otherwise known as the lunar effect, is the idea that there's some correlation between moon cycles and human behavior.
 
I have a few superstitions like never putting shoes on the table and a few others,but I am not superstitious about Friday the 13th. on My Dad was born in March on Friday the 13th. He was the best man in the world so I love Friday the 13th.
 
I'm half German and I also got the story about the shoes on the table. Must be a worldwide superstition. I was told never to open and umbrella in the house. Who would want to?
When I worked in the hospital many nurses,especially the older ones who had worked for years, said it was always super busy when there was a full moon.
I worked nights for awhile and never noticed it.

It has been said, Since the motions of the full moon dramatically affect the tides of the ocean, and the human body is 90% water, it correlates that it also affects the emotions of humans. It IS TRUE that more law enforcement is utilized during a full moon.
Don't throw your cowboy hat on the bed and only give a knife as a gift if you put a penny with it. (to counteract the hex).
and . . . PLANT A POTATO ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY TO HAVE GOOD LUCK ALL YEAR! and, Don't you be forgettin' it! (tee hee,hee!)

I never believed that...until.....my bipolar daughter displayed her other self during a full moon...every full moon.
 
I'm not really superstitious, but I do believe if two bad things happen within a few days, wait for the third.

My mother, Italian, was very superstitious =

Don't store your bread loaf upside down (don't know why)
If pregnant, don't step on sidewalk cracks (your fetus will strangle on the umbilical cord)
She would do the sign of the cross before starting a car ride

I do believe the moon affects us. If it can cause ocean tides, why not puny us who are mostly water?

yes that's the superstition I grew up with and there no-one more superstitious than us Celts.... I could write a book sitting here of all the superstitions I've grown up with..
