Supply of imported anti-malaria drug cut off by some countries

Do we even know if this works?
Based on small studies from France and feedback from US doctors administering it yes it apparently works. It's a decades old drug taken daily by many for various conditions. In China doctors said they had some success with the drug as a treatment

And Fauci is making public statements in a typical doctor cya manner which is expected. His preferred stamp of approval is the traditional FDA long term study route. There is no long term for a lot of these patients. Sometimes has to work with the information they have at the time and that information is the drug has been around and approved for other uses which says a lot actually.

Fox news isn't the only one putting out stories on the success of the drug. I posted an ABC news story in this thread.

Supposedly, it was noticed that malaria patients did not develop the virus. And it was assumed that hydroxychloroquin, a malaria drug was the cause.. But malaria patients are just as susceptible to getting the virus, as anybody else. Outside of internet and tabloid press articles, there is no evidence of any correlation between the drug and the virus.

I don't think the drug works & I've heard it's very risky.
But people are so scared, when it's available, I sure it will sell big time.
