How's everyone doing during these "isolated" times?

I can’t do puzzles, never have been able to, the shapes just don’t come together for me. Are you all better now-you and your husband?
yes pretty much... able to go out and be in the garden etc..we've done a lot this past few days.. I've still got some underlying conditions, but he's pretty much back to normal as is his colleague who got it at the same time, and had almost identical symptoms... both of them were very seriously poorly
another colleagues' father has just passed from it...and my daughter's closest friend's husband died the day before yesterday from catching it while in hospital for something totally unrelated, ( he went in to have some surgery on a limb) he was a very healthy man, who owned several businesses in which he was very active in all of them .. his wife is absolutely broken...

All parks are open. All playgrounds are closed.
all parks are open here too, all playgrounds closed... some parks tho' have roped off the becnhes so people cannot sit down, so that they're supposed to be proving they're out for exercise... but of course people are still sitting on benches in groups and lying on the grass sunbathing... regardless. It's just beyond belief that people can be so stupid as to be walking around where hundreds of other people are walking, jogging, cycling, etc.....

Finally reaching the bottom of my food supply. I did try ordering online once, was not happy with the results. Half of the order didn't appear, and other items had "substitutions" for what I wanted. Not sure whether this is because Safeway is really out of everything, or if I got a not-too-good shopper.

Today's paper has an article about how grocery workers are terrified, they desperately need their jobs but feel they are in the front lines, and many of them have young children at home. So I imagine the people who work stocking the shelves, etc. are getting to be fewer and fewer. It's a domino effect.

Debating between ordering online again, with who knows what results, and waiting about a week for delivery, or just putting on a mask and gloves and going to the store myself very early (they open at 6). What is everyone else doing about food?

So sorry to hear this, you guys have been through the wringer for sure. I am glad you and your husband are on the mend so sorry for the man who died, and his wife, no one has words to help mend a broken heart.

Great question, Ken. I am pretty sure, and spoke to two M.D.'s who concurred, that DIL, son & I already had it in February. I would love to take anti body test; would want them to also.
The way I see it our (seniors) only lifeline is a vaccine..

Put on a mask, gloves if you want, put wipes in your purse, go shop, wipe down everything, wash your hands with soap and water while singing happy birthday twice when you get home and are finished wiping down everything. It’s all you can do.

I haven't been out to the store at all for several weeks. I haven't needed anything online yet. I'm sure it's difficult but, maybe changing what you buy would help. Perhaps if you have a particular product you normally get for example hamburger...and let's say they are out of all meats except fish...you may wanna go with the fish. You see what I'm getting at here? Some items nobody wants. It's either that or don your mask and gloves and whatever makes you feel safe and make the trip in. I am noticing there are things on the shelves that are not available online. I just don't wanna take the chance of going inside. It's possible they may be losing help because people are too scared to stay. Make a decision and understand that they are under a lot of duress during this time.

Have a great day all!

We tried going to the store when it first opened, but there were a lot of people there, lined up to get in. Now we go about 45 minutes to an hour after the store opens and its much better. Guess a lot of people try to get there first thing, thinking they'd minimize people contact and get the paper products or best selection of whatever they might need. Have to learn to "out think them" these days...lol.

Not so here, doesn't matter what time we go, there's a huge queue. In fact I've deliberately avoided going early in the morning because there's an hour set aside from NHS workers, the elderly and their carers, and of course there's huge queues waiting for that hour to finish and the rest can be allowed in... so I leave it to much later in the day usually around mid-day or mid afternoon...still huge queues...

Do you live in a "high density" area? We don't ... not many apartments in this area and lots of land and larger lot size houses. Maybe that's the difference. There seem to be several large supermarkets within a short driving distance of us and a lot of people can choose between them. Hope your area gets back to normal capacity soon. Otherwise it can feel like a war zone to go to the market!

We went to a Chiropractor/Doctor...This Morning....I can't believe how many Doctor's are not opening and Urgent cares...Anyway I drove around 13 miles on a really empty highway....We were in a storm...But I wanted to get my husband to the Doctor...He only takes 1 person at a time in the office....He did some stuff for him to get
some relief....My husband has many ailments....So he has to be careful about the Meds....So the Chiro fixed him
a little...He goes back on Wednesday....We called my husband's Doctor....He will talk to him tomorrow....
Cause we are in a different State. .His Doctor has to tell him what Meds he needs to take...He has to much
going on several drugs...So Chiro told him talk to his Doctor....So, Wow is Me....My kids are trying to give us
what to do...But they are not here....Some Doctor's are not here....If they do have Doctor's they are a couple
of town's away...Hubby can't sit in the car that long....(My husband had/has Cancer)….I say that because
it can come back....Be Well, All.....♥

Same here

I cancelled and reset all my doctor appointments. There are only 1100cases in the county and 2300 in the state, but still I am cautious of going to a medical facility. We‘ve had 18 deaths statewide.

I'm actually enjoying it! This morning I could hear all the birds. Normally, they are drowned out by human noise. I'm not breathing in traffic fumes when I pop to the corner shop. No kids screaming and shouting outside my window!

No absolutely not I live in the countryside, I live between 2 small towns..... , unfortunately it's the whole of the UK, well at least England, can't speak for the rest of the UK, whether the Big Cities or these little country villages which is really not getting back to normal with regard food supplies, and shortages.

My daughter lives in Spain, they have serious lockdown there.. only one trip out permitted , and you have to go alone, to the nearest shops, or medical centre, police blockades, and permissions and proof of appointments have to be shown to the police if you're stopped (nothing is open, not even the beaches or parks) no exercise time allowed for anyone (unlike here) , and if you have a dog you can only toilet it right outside your buidling then back indoors immediately, no walkies around the block ... ....... They've been on lockdown for a month, yet since the first week every supermarket has been fully stocked... daughter just can't figure out why we in the UK are still struggling with basic shortages like UHT milk, TP, Pasta. sauces, paracetamol.. etc.. which is all readily available in Spain when in fact they and Italy have a much higher incidence of Covid-19 than we have here...
