Multiple historic landmarks in Washington D.C. were vandalized by far-left domestic terrorists on Sunday night, as reported by CNN.

Among the casualties were the historic Lincoln Memorial and the World War II Memorial. A pedestal in front of Lincoln was defaced with the phrase “Yall not tired yet?”—a direct threat that riots and destruction will continue. The World War II Monument similarly was defaced with the racially-charged question of “Do black vets count?”

Got an email from my church choir director asking me to donate to a bail fund for the "protestors." These "protestors" have burned and looted stores and city vehicles, thrown stones through a synagogue window, defaced our own church, and injured several police.

I haven't responded. I don't know whether to quit the choir or not. I am a lousy singer and I don't want to make them happy by having me leave.

Never assume anything. Not all of the protesters have burned and looted. Never assume that all of the people there were really there to protest. Never assume that all were sent to cause trouble to make the protesters look bad. Never assume that a peaceful protester causes any damage. We all know that some people are just plain trouble makers, while others are trying to make our country a better place for all of our citizens to live in. But, as long as any of us keep seeing people killed by out of control police officers, there will never be peace. And, it's not just black people who have been victims.

Agreed. There are many peaceful protectors who are adamantly against any protestor trying to inflict violence. But of course there are certain people out there who are all too eager to caricaturize all protestors as violent and "crazy".

You're only assuming that those specific people in the video are threatening lives. But I guess it makes things easier to justify the injuring of those specific people by the police (who are sworn to serve and protect ALL people) when you cast yourself as a potential victim.

There is one very telling error in the story of antifa causing damage to the Lincoln Memorial. When Republican President Lincoln held office, Republicans were liberal and Democrats were conservative.

President Lincoln is an icon to liberals. No liberal group would do any harm to the Lincoln Memorial. And, I can't see a liberal causing harm to any WW2 memorial. A story like that is something that a rogue conservative group would come up with.

Being a police officer is an honorable profession. But sadly, not all police officers are honorable.
We can't throw the baby out with the bath water, so to speak. But we ought to be able to throw out bad cops. They just make it harder for good police officers to do their job as safely as possible.

As for the video posted above, no peaceful protest needs to be in the road. You have the right to peacefully assemble on the sidewalk and wave signs, shout out your beliefs etc. In order to block a city street, you would have to have a permit so the police could safely divert traffic. I'm sorry your hatred of all police seems to block out that tidbit of information.

Antifa paymasters and far right groups like white nationalists both take advantage of situations like this. There's not much difference in extremist left or right when you get to the very fringes of the spectrum. The end game for both is totalitarianism, and chaos is a great tool for moving a free society to totalitarianism.
