Old threads being brought back into the forums

Well as Mathjak pointed out awhile back when I mentioned that a thread was old...people can still get something out of them (not his words verbatim). So mostly I don't mind. But if it's something specific to a person who's issue was solved or someone who doesn't even visit the forum anymore, I view responding as a possible time waster.

Personally I enjoy reading them and, as we have a lot of new members who missed them the first time round, they have the opportunity to express their views

I love it, and just so happen to be one of the biggest violators of such! LOL!

It depends on the topic. If the OP was asking a question that got answered in 2012, I don't particularly think the thread needs a bump for another answer. (Especially if the OP hasn't been back since then.)

If the topic is interesting and still relevant, then why not.

A few of the old threads can get rather eerie, especially when the posters are no longer 'around', and you knew them when they were here
.... there was one such thread I saw the other day that I wish had never resurfaced.
Just made me sad to read it.

Since coming here last fall, I still haven't visited all the forums. I do like to see as many as possible and if it interests me, I often comment on it. Doesn't necessarily imply that I am attempting to revive it, but just getting my 2 cents in. People are free to ignore it. I have seen remarks such as; old thread, etc. C'est la vie.

I like when the old threads come back. I have been here a few years, and sometimes they are topics I missed the first go round. Of course, it is a bit of a surprise when I see a post from someone like AZJim, or others who are no longer with us.

That's one of the great things about getting old......I've forgotten half of what I remember so the old topics are NEW!!! to me. Win-win!
