Employee appearance .

I had a grocery delivery yesterday....A young black female did the delivery, very polite , etc.

But ..... She was wearing a "bodysuit" is what I'll call it, sort of camouflage in color. Very low cut , and somewhat "transparent" as well.....I mean nothing was really hidden, just covered [to a point] I mean every crack , curve & protrusion of her body was visible . {I don't want to get to specific , ya get the point}

There was a time in this country when no company, would want themselves represented in such a manner ...... I think we need to get back to that.

Yes I expect to be labeled racist [because she was black] ..... fine. And i may be labeled sexist , [because she was female] again, fine.

I just do not think that sort of attire , is appropriate in daylight business.

If I were the owner of, or the manager of, not only would my employees be required to dress accordingly, they would be required to maintain their appearances accordingly.

I would be no-nonsense and strict about those two things.

She battled covid cooties and traffic to bring you your food. This is supposed to be a deadly pandemic right? Was she accurate with your list? If so, I wouldn't complain about her attire unless you want to buy your groceries yourself. This is just my opinion cause sometimes you need to see clearly where you are and what's going on and get your priorities straight.

Young women today of all races and sizes are pleasing themselves by wearing what they like and think is comfortable. WOMENS’ Lives and freedoms matter. If Her body suit seemed clean, she was wearing a mask and her hands were clean or gloved, I don’t see any problem. I’ve don’t use delivery myself, but have seen a LOT of deliveries going on at my apt complex, they all dress differently and I’m more concerned about the ones blowing their noses all over the stuff than what wearing.

I agree.
Every business should have a reasonable dress-code, and employees should be required to comply.

I doubt I would have noticed her mask or gloves.
Or even cared......

If she was hot, she should be required by law to wear that outfit.

I guess I'm just getting old, but I notice that many of the younger people seem to have little concern for their public appearance. Male, Female, Black, White....it doesn't seem to matter much. Some of these people actually pay good money for a pair of jeans with holes in the knees, etc. Heck, I can even remember when it was considered polite to remove the hat when dining at a restaurant....guess I'm getting old.

I've never understood the thing with jeans. Not only the ones with holes, but also the ones with faded legs.

I'm super old-school, so cleanliness and proper dress-code in keeping with the line of work would be the order of the day for my employees.
The lack of personal grooming really bothers me. Individuals working in fast-food places around food and customers looking like they haven't brushed/combed their hair in a month, dirty teeth, etc. It's beyond gross.

Allow me to be old with you, Don. :)

So........if you didn't like her outfit, why did you order more groceries & insist on the same delivery girl?

:giggle:

I don't expect the work or company attire to cover from the ear lobe, down to the ankles.
But.........i think it's bad taste to dress as was described.
Dress with common sense.
I think sometimes females attract the wrong people, and wrong kind of attention and possibly a ever feared sexual attack, by dressing in ways like such.
Maybe there's some males doing the same thing.
If someone delivered to my door, dressed as such, i would be totally unimpressed.
Maybe the employers don't know, or pay no attention, or don't care.
I hope she was gloves or mask or both.

Face it, we are now a nation of slobs when it comes to dressing. A few years back the teens had their pants down to their knees showing their underwear. Going to malls now is like walking in to someone's kitchen at 6AM, no make up, no combed hair, dirty slippers and old smelly robes.
Ever see those pics of "Walmart's Worst Dressed on YouTube?" We used to go to ball games looking like we just got off work. Now it is shorts, t-shirts often too small and grubby shoes and 20 year old ball caps.
