I found another "shortage"

I bought this tea from Amazon and wondered why it took so long to get it.

Twinings Assorted Tea Variety Pack - 40 ct Hot Tea Sampler: Camomile, Chai, Black, Herbal, Rooibos, Green, Earl Grey English Breakfast, Organic with By The Cup Honey Sticks
we have loads of Heinz ketchup..no shortage here.... or of Twinings tea.....:D

With this "social distancing", I thought about buying some Webcams, and putting one on my computer, and giving the kids/grandkids each one, so as to have a better way of communicating....rather than just phone calls and e-mails. I checked the store web sites at Best Buy, Staples, Office Depot, etc., and they are all sold out of those costing $100, or less. The items that they still have are quite high in price....some well over $1000.

I guess all this "work from home" transition, in recent weeks, has gutted the supply of these. About the only store that seems to be able to get these at a reasonable price is Walmart....but they don't have any in stock, either.
I read somewhere that webcams are like open invitations for hackers. Is that true?

yes indeed Treacle.. I know this because we got some at the weekend... ..is it not in yours?
No hollydolly it's not been on the shelves for a number of weeks. We use it because it is concentrated and has higher levels of lycopene/antioxidants. I think various shops have different shortages , could be that priority is given to online deliveries. It took quite a while before the eggs were back in the supermarket and the selection was limited. Thanks for responding. 🤗

You\'re quite welcome, and I know you're down in the SW... so perhaps things are taking longer to get there than over here on the East. We never had a problem with eggs either.. and our farm shops have them as well as the supermarkets. If you need any Tomato Puree in a hurry, and you still can't get any I'd be happy to send you some over.. :D...just let me know..

Thanks hollydolly that's really kind of you. Will let you know if o/h becomes desperate!!!!! 🤗🤗

A couple of things to consider about Amazon: Some of the dealers on Amazon are actually in China, and I don't believe it's obvious which ones. Shipments from China right now could be very slow. I've waited over a month for my last order of tea and there is still no sign of it.

The other thing is that Amazon has announced that they are giving priority to essential items and other purchases may be delayed. I've read that they are actually discouraging sales.

Don
I don't know if it applies in America, but I have ordered items from Amazon without checking where they were coming from, and had to pay import tax.

Not too many shortages here overall in my area although I have found it more difficult to find peameal bacon and certain types of apples and cucumbers that we like.

Our local stores have and intermittent shortages of many items, over the past couple of months. It seems to vary from week to week, so when we go to the stores, and see plenty of a given item, we buy a couple of extras, and then the next time something else is in short supply. It's a continual "game". Everything from manufacturing and processing to delivery is being impacted, but with a little "creativity", we are doing fine. At least the TP "crisis" seems to be over.
