A More or Less Perfect Day

Had a more or less perfect day yesterday.

Coffee with my wife, followed by a 3/4 mile swim, then breakfast. Then we took our puppy to a little campsite run by a group that tries to protect the James River. The leader took us out in a boat downstream from Richmond. We saw ospreys, egrets, great blue herons and cormorants. Maxine went swimming with us in the river (we bought her a little life preserver with a handle we could grab to pull her out of the water).

Then, masked grocery shopping followed by some PGA Tour on tv followed by an online bridge tournament where we came in dead last.

Don't know why but it seemed like a great day.

Anybody else had a good-to-great day in the midst of all this mess lately?

How refreshing it is when I hear someone had a good time! I'm happy for you, it sounds like a great day anyone would enjoy!

Hmmm, I had the coffee part right yesterday.

.... and then I discovered that I have to mess with my sprinkler system AGAIN. It was close to 100F yesterday so I postponed this chore until we get some cooler weather which doesn't seem likely for several weeks. I will have to use the garden hose.

I am trying to remember my last "perfect" day, but it seems like it was ancient history. Maybe I am not in a good mood today and more coffee is required.

Oh, Yesterday I did have an excellent dinner of baked salmon in a maple glaze sauce.

Ok......I'm going to spill the beans.

Everyday has being perfect, and more, since a week ago, Sunday.......that's 8 days....right.

Was able to reconnect with the love of my life, an amazing gentle soul, after a year absent.
Haven't ever been this happy.......except maybe close after my second divorce, and finding this great place.

It's like we've never been apart, everyday is a joy.

The only obstacle is border closure, 3500 klm, to the east coast, Canada.

Pecos, it was close to 100 here yesterday but it was a lot cooler out on the water. Your dinner was a lot better than mine btw.

That obstacle will be resolved at some point. I'm happy you reconnected. You sound thrilled!

I've had a couple of perfect days in the past few months~
1. Camping with old friends, riding bikes, cooking outdoors, and having long conversations around a campfire, while roasting marshmallows.
2. Camping with my husband, riding bikes on miles of trails in a state park, a delicious sea food dinner, and watching the sun set.
