Is This Old Saying True In Your Life?

While I'd rather not think I have enemies, most of us have been hurt by friends and family at some point. I've had my share of hurts, although it takes more energy than it's worth to count them.

Many of our old friends have already passed away, and the kids live far enough away such that our gatherings are limited.....which probably keeps our relationships "civil". Sometimes it gets a bit lonely anymore.

I think the people we have the closest relationships with( or should have) , are the ones that hurt the most when things go downhill. Perhaps it’s because we invest so much time and effort into them that when they start to fail it hurts; lots.

Anyone encounter the term ā€œfrenemies,ā€ people who are both your friends, and your enemies? I’ve had a few of those in my day, people who will associate with you, but also stab you in the back under certain conditions...sometimes, life get complicated! o_O

Enemies are monsters who take pleasure seeing you in pain. They make a special effort to cause you extra misery. If your friends are doing this why would you call them friends?

I can't really think of any enemies I've ever had so that would only leave friends. I can say that there is only one former best friend and one former girlfriend who truly hurt me deeply. Strangely enough I forgave them enough to have them in my life as friends although we're not close both emotionally or living close to each other.

There are also various jerks and a-holes I've had in my life due to working together or some other situation which required us to be together. I can't say that any of them hurt me, but some of them definitely provided some unpleasant experiences and situations.
